  1. CAL driving. South intercepts the pass and brings it out to the 14.
  2. Copenhaver with a 1yd TD. CAL 14-0. If South can’t get a passing game going it will be a long night for the Dragons.
  3. After South got the ball back went 3 and out. Tried a fake punt and CAL stopped them. CAL now driving at the 1 yard line.
  4. South QB sacked on 3rd and 14. Have to punt. End of the first.
  5. Just as I say that South hits a 50 yard pass play! Ball at the 30.
  6. CAL not respecting South passing game. Really no Safety.
  7. CAL up 7-0 after snap went over the South’s punters head. CAL took it in from 34 yards out on Cole Hodge scramble.
  8. Losing McCubbin is a tough loss for South but they have enough talent to overcome it. After watching the scrimmage last week it would not surprise me to see Nick Hamilton under center Friday night. This game to me will come down to South’s line controlling the LOS and the offense controlling the clock with long scoring drives. The defense will need to slow down CAL and keep them out of the end zone just enough to squeak by. Also want to see CAL’s passing game without Messer. He is a special talent.
  9. I would like to know why whoever did the voting put South Oldham third. With some very good pieces returning, especially in the trenches, I like their chances for a very successful season!
  10. With both South Oldham and St X winning on Monday sets up a Wednesday evening showdown between the two top ranked teams. Guess the state championship will be played Wednesday! Good luck guys!
  11. I just read the playoff brackets for the boys state Lacrosse tournament. How do the two top ranked teams in the state (St X and South Oldham) end up on the same side of the brackets? Outside of a really good explanation it takes on the appearance of protecting a Trinity vs St X final. Can someone explain this!
  12. I always believe a coach should get enough time to get his players, system and culture in place. Is three years enough? Was it enough for Stoops? Florida needs a QB!
  13. After watching Oldham County vs South Oldham there is NO WAY I would say Oldham is a top 5 team.
  14. To me today's kids deal with a lot more information available to them than we did 50 years ago ( I graduated HS in 1975). Think of all the things that have been brought to light in this age of information. It can be good and bad. But kids are a lot more informed about what's going on, even if they aren't old enough to understand or how to deal with it in some cases. From a sports perspective players have a lot more information available to them about recruiting, options and what can be going on. In days gone by schools/coaches held all the cards. Schools and coaches made millions off the players. Players had few options if they found themselves in a bad situation. If there is a change in coaching staff, for example, and the new staff has their own "guys"! Where was their future? Coaches are held accountable, at least a little more today, about what they say to players to get them to come to play for them. Abuses in practices and how they treat their players are out in the open more, and the players have resources available to them to report these abuses. And with social media, these players have information available to them about what they may be getting into in regards to a particular school or coaching staff. They know and communicate with each other. It's not blind obedience anymore. That goes throughout society. Today's kids have information and options. Can it be abused by the players -- yes. But it's not all bad. Maybe some programs/coaches feel threatened by this. But the honest coaches that run good programs don't seem to be having a problem with this new era
  15. If I got this right he was 11-23 against a team ranked 129 out of 130 FBS teams. Could be a long season in Knoxville.
  16. Saw him play a few times on tv. Big, strong kid with a really good arm. Can really sling it. But he missed so many open receivers I couldn’t believe they had nothing better. I will be watching the UT passing game as the season progresses.
  17. LC 21-0. Good mix of run and pass. QB ran it in on a broken play. Impressed so far with LC quarterback.
  18. LC goes for it on fourth down and South picks off pass.
  19. At the end of the first quarter it’s LC 14-0. South has one first down in 3 possessions. LC has scored on both possessions with the QB not missing a pass. South has to get their passing game going and get a little tighter coverage.
