  1. 1. Dunbar – Beat Tates Creek by 29 and survived Louisville Central at the Jock Sutherland Classic. They finish district play against Lexington Catholic on Tuesday before playing Henry Clay Thursday and travelling to Taylor County on Saturday. 2. Scott County – The Cards dropped a close one to Bryan Station before beating Henry Clay and demolishing Fern Creek. They are off until they host Grant County on Friday. 3. Henry Clay – They beat Madison Central by 10 before dropping a close one to Scott County to finish district play, despite 40 points from Pun Tisdale. The Blue Devils are sitting at 21-5 and host Dunbar Thursday and take on North Hardin on Saturday at Nicholas County. 4. Lafayette – Lost to Catholic by 7 and LCA by 29 before redeeming themselves by ending Mercer County’s winning streak. I’m not sold on Lafayette making it to the region. They host Bryan Station before hitting the road to Louisville Trinity on Friday. 5. Lexington Catholic – Winners of 3 in a row and 5 of their last 6, Catholic appears to be peaking at the right time. They will go down Man O’ War and face Dunbar before hosting LCA and Clay County to finish the week. 6. Madison Central – Losses to Lincoln County and Henry Clay leave the Indians at 14-10 heading into the last 2 weeks of the regular season. They host Cordia and Franklin County before taking on Wayne County on Saturday. 7. Lexington Christian – The Eagles are riding a bona fide winning streak after defeating Holy Cross and obliterating Lafayette last week. They have a 3 game week with Tates Creek, Lexington Catholic and Boyle County all on the schedule this week. 8. Madison Southern – 2-1 last week with wins over Somerset and Tates Creek before falling to Lexington Catholic. They hit the district draw lottery and have been all but guaranteed a trip to region after playing Berea. They play Bourbon County and Western Hills this week and shoot have a good shot at getting to 17-11 on the year. 9. Bryan Station – Beat Scott County before losing to Paris and Bullitt East. They move up because the Scott County win is more quality than any of the teams below them have on their resume. They go to Lafayette and host Tates Creek this week. 10. Woodford County – Beat Model by a million before losing to Bourbon County. This team continues to be up and down all year. They host West Jessamine before hitting the road to Mercer County on Friday. 11. Franklin County – Winners of 3 games last week. The Flyers beat Sayre, Bourbon County and Whitefield Academy to get to 12-11 on the season. They play Christian Academy – Louisville and Madison Central this week. 12. Frankfort – Still wildly inconsistent at this point in the year. These Panthers went 1-2 last week and play Collins and Pulaski County this week. 13. Model – Went 0-3 last week and lost all 3 by double digits. The district draw did them no favors as they have to play Madison Central to get to the regional. They play Danville and Robertson County as they start to wind down the regular season. 14. Western Hills – Beat Berea and lost to Paris. Games against Madison Southern and Nelson County offer them the chance to improve their record as they head into the postseason. 15. Tates Creek – Move up by virtue of their win over Sayre in OT last week. They await a play in game against LCA in the 43rd district tournament in a couple weeks. They actually play LCA on Tuesday and go to Ryle and Bryan Station later in the week. 16. Sayre – Poor Jake Duby. Had 42 against Tates Creek, and 31 against Nicholas County. Now averaging 25 PPG on the year. He’ll have opportunities to improve his totals against Bethlehem and Wolfe County this week. 17. Berea – Lost by double figures to Western Hills and Nicholas County last week but do have opportunities to win over Bath County, the Kentucky School for the Deaf and Estill County this week. District Matchups 41st: (1) Woodford County v. (4) Western Hills (2) Franklin County v. (3) Frankfort 42nd: (1) Scott County v. (4) Sayre (2) Henry Clay v. (3) Bryan Station 43rd: (4) LCA v. (5) Tates Creek (1) Dunbar v. Either LCA or Tates Creek (2) Lafayette v. (3) Lexington Catholic 44th: Madison Southern v. Berea Madison Central v. Model
  2. Great tournament. Wish they would change the dates for AAU state
  3. As the resident Minimal/Casey County expert, will Minimal be there?
  4. I was there and I applaud Coach Mendenhall for pulling Lane, Watkins, Ross Jenkins and Jaelin Jenkins all early in the game when they were completely ineffective and went with Greenup, Dreux, Carpenter and Powell in their place. If I were a Lafayette fan going forward I would consider playing Jaelin Jenkins considerably less and letting JaJuante Carpenter and Eric Powell have his minutes. Those two combined for 34 points in the Mercer win. Really intrigued by Powell. I would think that he will be the go to scorer next year for the Generals.
  5. You obviously didn't see them during the summer. You will say "it's just summer ball" but they were getting killed by everyone. Bullitt East beat them by about 30. They had Eli Wright playing on the block. It was hard to watch.
  6. If you know the rosters, share them.
  7. I've heard Trace Young is no longer at Huntington Prep
  8. I see tonight that Michael Moreno joins Kyle Rode to play for Indiana Elite 15u and Danny Butt and Steven Fitzgerald left Magic for WACG. 4 more kids leaving KY. Hate to see these kids go play out of state.
  9. Strictly going off of last season's rosters and what I've seen on Twitter, here's what I think everyone has for 17u: Manimal - CVH, Peyton Broughton, Dylan Gaines Magic - Jaylen Sebree, Jamill Wilson, JR Mathis, Chris Vogt, Chance Moore, Tony Jackson, Ramon Collins Hoop Dreams - Jerryd Jones, Tray Hollowell, Dylan James, CJ Henagan, Pedro Bradshaw That's all I've got on 17u and could be inaccurate. Seems like most of the teams should be finalizing rosters soon.
  10. 7 - South Laurel 5 - Scott v Fern Creek 3 - Mercer County 2 - Owen County 1 - Henry Clay TB - Henry Clay
  11. Any more rumors of Allen leaving Pendleton after the season?
  12. 1. Dunbar – Beat Lafayette by 31 and Bryan Station by 30 to get to 19-4 on the season. Games against Tates Creek and Louisville Central don’t figure to challenge the Bulldogs this week. 2. Scott County – 22-2 going into February is probably far exceeding Billy Hicks’ expectations. Big week ahead as they go to Bryan Station, host Henry Clay and play Fern Creek at Franklin County. 3. Henry Clay – Toppled Louisville Trinity by 10 on the road and beat Lafayette by 22 at home to cap a great week for the Devils. They host Ballard and Madison Central this week before hitting the road to Scott County. 4. Lafayette – Double figure losses to Henry Clay and Dunbar are very ugly marks on an otherwise good season to this point. They’ll try to bounce back this week against Lexington Catholic, LCA and Mercer County this week. 5. Madison Central – Lost to Southwestern by 5 to start the week but their win over Trinity and a win over Tates Creek are enough to move the Indians up in the rankings. 6. Lexington Catholic – Lost on the road at Perry County Central before beating Tates Creek in a district game. They hit the road and go to Lafayette before a home date with Madison Southern on Thursday. 7. Lexington Christian – These Eagles were soundly beaten by Newport Central Catholic in the first round of the All A state tournament. Currently sitting at 5-7 in the region and 1-5 in the district, I’ve probably got them ranked too high. But I figure they can beat everyone below them. 8. Madison Southern – Lost to Male, Rockcastle County and Montgomery County to go 0-3 on the week. But they are 13-10 heading down the stretch and can easily make the region. 9. Woodford County – 2-0 on the week with double digit wins over Collins and Frankfort. Should be favored over Model and Bourbon County this week. 10. Bryan Station – DeAndre Dishman has returned but the Defenders still seem lifeless. They barely edged Sayre before getting blown out by Dunbar and losing at Taylor County. It’s now or never for this team. They face Scott County, Paris and Bullitt East this week. 11. Model – Lost to Bourbon County and Paris. Beat Robertson County by 36. They’re 11-12 with 6 games left and a chance to finish regular season .500 or better. 12. Frankfort – This team makes no sense. They got rolled by Woodford County by 21 to finish regular season district play at 3-3. They visit Shelby County, Anderson County and play Whitefield Academy at Franklin County this week. 13. Franklin County – 4-2 in their district. These young Flyers can go 3-0 this week against Whitefield Academy, Bourbon County and Sayre. 14. Western Hills – Losers of 2 out of 3 last week, they beat Trimble County before losing to Shelby County and Franklin County. They play Anderson County, Berea and Paris this week. 15. Sayre – Losers of 7 in a row now, the Spartans appear to be just killing time until losing in the first round of the district and ending their season. They can still get a few wins in the regular season but that’s probably about it. 16. Tates Creek – Losers of 6 in a row, they are only 3-16. They do have a date with Sayre on Monday. They also go to Madison Southern and to Dunbar this week. 17. Berea – Made a liar out of me by winning 2 in a row last week against Jackson County and Lynn Camp. Nicholas County and Western Hills offer two more potential wins. They may get out of the 11th region basement before the season ends.
  13. Any word on when Dishman is coming back?
  14. Travelers 17s are officially not coming back. They will have 16u and 15u.
  15. According to Twitter, Peyton, Cole and Dylan Gaines are all committed to Manimal 17u. Not sure beyond that.
  16. I run a baseline out of bounds set for him to get a lob. Probably had a dozen big time dunks in the summer time. Even at the game against Pulaski he opened the game with a lob from Fuller that was nice.
  17. The 9th district is down because it lost 4 D1 players before the season started with Holman, Miller, Young and Wright all leaving. The secret about the 3rd region is that outside of the 9th district, there isn't ever a ton of talent. They occasionally have a good Muhlenberg, Ohio County or Grayson County team but the overall talent level is way way down this season.
  18. Agreed on Taylor County. Dylan Gaines played his first game last night for the Cardinals. That added weapon will help.
  19. They should be. It's their entire Junior class except for Dylan James
  20. I think there's some over-reaction on this one. Montgomery County was without Jerryd Jones. That's 15 points and 8 rebounds a game missing.
  21. Apologies. When I looked at the scoreboard earlier I could have sworn that game was listed and had them losing.
