11th Region Rankings for the week of January 25th

Featured Replies

Apologies for the tardiness in posting. I've been having internet problems at home and had to do these at work. Please don't tell my boss.

1. Dunbar – Out of action last week but face Lafayette and Bryan Station this week in a couple of city rivalry games.

2. Scott County – Went 3-1 in hosting the Toyota Classic. Lost without Freshman stud Michael Moreno. Beat Franklin County Monday night by 23 and are off the rest of the week.

3. Henry Clay – Beat Tates Creek handily last week. A rematch with Trinity and a city battle with Lafayette are on the schedule this week.

4. Lafayette – Dropped their only game in the Toyota Classic to Lake Brantley, Florida. Huge games against Dunbar and Henry Clay loom ahead for this week.

5. Lexington Catholic – Another team who sat out last week, the Knights go to Perry Central and Tates Creek this week.

6. Madison Central – Beat Bryan Station and West Jessamine before the snow and lost to Southwestern last night. The Indians are in good shape to be an 11th region contender as the end of the season approaches. Still have games on tap against Trinity and Tates Creek this week.

7. Lexington Christian – Back above .500 for the year and the newly crown all A champs for the 11th region, the Eagles will face Newport Central Catholic in what should be a good game at the All A state on Thursday.

8. Madison Southern – Defeated East Jessamine by 20 before getting drilled by Male last night. This team seems to beat every bad team they play and lose to every good one. Need to start peaking or it will be a short postseason.

9. Frankfort – All A Runners up after beating Model and losing to LCA, the Panthers face Nicholas County and Woodford County this week.

10. Bryan Station – Lost to Madison Central. Face Sayre, Dunbar and Taylor County this week. Hopefully Dishman comes back soon.

11. Model – Beat Sayre by 30 at the All A. Lost to Frankfort and Estill County. Still have Bourbon County and Robertson County on the schedule this week.

12. Woodford County – They beat Western Hills before the snow came. Face Collins and Frankfort this week.

13. Franklin County – Lost to Scott County by 23 last night, still face Western Hills in a big district matchup this week.

14. Western Hills – The best of the bad teams, I would not be surprised to see the Wolverines back in to the 11th region tournament.

15. Sayre – Losers of 5 in a row, the Spartans are struggling. The tail end of their schedule offers plenty of opportunities to get some wins.

16. Tates Creek – Losers of 4 in a row, I look at their schedule and am not sure they’ll win another game this season. They face Lexington Catholic and Madison Central this week.

17. Berea – Their best chance for another win this season is a return date against the School For the Deaf. Other than that, the wins are few and far between.

Apologies. When I looked at the scoreboard earlier I could have sworn that game was listed and had them losing.

It did! The Herald Leader reported it wrong as well. No problem, just wanted to clarify.

Lake Brantley beat Holmes in the Toyota Classic. It was reported wrong to KHSAA. Lafayette did not participate.

Dishman is back for Bryan Station. He played in the game against Sayre earlier this week. He did not start but played down the stretch. Sayre led by 8 at half. They lost the lead in the 3rd but rallied back and had a chance to win before time ran out. Station 66 Sayre 63. Station was led by Andre Davis with 15, Dishman had 9. Sayre was led by Jake Duby with 29 and 11 rebounds.
