Corbin is a top tier D no doubt.

I look for a standout defense in 5A - not sure I see any. BG,Owensboro immediately standout as not up to par for their expectations. South Warren 38 to North Hardin, 28 to Gibson Southern, 159 in total. Highlands 50 burger to Cooper. Did shut down Raceland. The last 3 champs had dominant defenses (BG in 20, SW in 21 and FD in 22). In other classes, Beechwood is a great team as is CovCath but both uncharacteristic high points given up. St X gives up 45 to a down Trinity. Male given up a high of 20 and appears to be the best defense in the state. Maybe Corbin gives them a run - solid so far. Freddie D very good when considering in state opposition. Boyle good but probably not to their standard. I am only looking at top tier teams and to me defenses are down. Defenses not up to the standard this year?

This game was 41-7 at half - never in doubter and huge win by CAL. Very tough team.

This may be the most wide open class. No great Defense in the west. I would guess Highlands vs BG right now. Wouldn’t be shocked if both are upset though.

The eye test says LCA is the best team. But having to run Mayfield then Beechwood then OCath. To me even with a cakewalk any of the other 3 can get to finals. It’s Ocaths best shot ever.

Screen passes always fool us. Secondary is lost on some plays and huge gain wide open. 75 percent of time they make stops and then wide open pass someone lost. Safeties are inexperienced. We miss Winstead there and maybe Hampton. Owensboro is usually Linebacker U. I like Crowe on the outside but we miss him inside. I liked the 4 down lineman this past game. Coaches great adjustments. We knew this was rebuild year. Live the tough schedule though it will pay benefits.

Next week at Madisonville may be tough for Graves.
