I don't think you guys can beat CAL. That cute sign that your players ran through, that exclaimed that our winning streak was over did nothing but motivate our guys. We started the game hyped, a fumbled kickoff killed our momentum, but we came back in the second half, and took your lunch money. We can play 10 times, and I see the same result.

Here's my view of the game. I knew it would be closer this year. They had us where they wanted us, at home, with a grudge after the 55-7 whipping last year. They had all the motivation. We jumped out early 14-0. Should have put the game away then, but to their credit, and one score coming off a fumbled kickoff which led to a score for Bardstown, and we lost Ruxer on that play. 14-14. This is where i'm impressed with our guys. They showed their experience didn't panic and went to work. We drove the field, did settle for a fg went to the half up 17-14. Second half was all Colts. The qb keeper they ran so much in the first half that was giving us problems, our coaches did a good job of making the adjustments. We did wear them down in the 2nd half. Remember they are moving up to 3A next year, we just do a really good job of developing players for both sides of the ball, that allows us to not have to platoon players on both sides. I'll give Bardstown their due. They have a stingy defense, they are fast. I think depth is an issue. I don't see them beating CAL. Now we get Ft Knox Fri, which we should be able to handle, then we get a off week which we need. Then comes CAL.

If that in fact is the case, then this game will be closer than you think. Shawnee was missing the QB when we played them. That definitely hurt. You watch #5, and #15. Those two were great athletes. I can easily see how they started out 4-0. If the QB is back, along with those other two, they can create some problems.

Wish i felt as confident as others in this thread. I just have this feeling that this is a trap game.

Hardly. Why would I be stung by a game that was 2 years ago? We have won a title since then. The argument still stands. Caldwell has played a terrible schedule so far. That hasn't changed. You play one good team, in Mayfield, and you play Murray which i'm not sold on. We played Warren Central 5A #5, Still have to play #3 Cal 2A, and Bardstown this week #4 2A. How do you not understand how a Louisville school is playing in 2A? We are a private school with 309 students. You did beat us 2 years ago. That's a fact. IMO you wouldn't have beat us last year. We were to well balanced. You might be able to beat us this year, we won't know till we play. I still like our team.

I think it will be much closer than the 55-7 last year. I'll take the Colts by 10.

They haven't played 1 team with a winning record. Very weak schedule so far.

With your weak schedule I'd put you at #3 behind CAL.

They will definitely beat Washington Co, and Thomas Nelson, without any problems.

It was 30-8 at the half. We sat out 3 starters. Lost another one due to injury. I will say this. Shawnee has some nice athletes. They aren't the most technically sound bunch, but they are athletic. It looks like they have their numbers up, and their coaches are very active on the sidelines. I can see where they give some teams problems. They must have run 4 fake punts on us, and 2 that we knew were coming. They were just a frustrating bunch to play against. I will say this, having the QB 1 out it had to of made a difference somewhat, but when they split their tackles out that leaves the QB wide open, and Pirtle could probably be charged with an assault crime. I felt sorry for the hits the kid was taking. They did rotate about 3 different guys back there. If it was a called run, it was the QB who ran it. No handoffs. I can see why their starter has so many rushing yards. Their receivers are big, and can jump. I'll be interested to see what they can do with CAL.

Shawnee played the most unorthodox game I have seen in awhile. The split the tackles out they ran the ball maybe 3 times all night. Game took 3 hours to play.
