Defensive battle??? Or broadside of the barnapaluza??? I know both teams play great defense but both typically have a ton of fire power so I'd love to hear the details on this one.

In the first half NCC looked very good hitting back door cuts and moving toward the basket. Eagles looking flustered at times and while ball movement was good spent too much time moving around the perimeter in the 1st half with little movement toward the basket. 2nd half a different story as NCC packed the baseline and the arc allowing Clephane Dant and Stapleton to find space at or inside the foul line. For easy drop ins. Defensively the Eagles found their defensive "feet" in the 2nd half and made NCC really work for their openings contesting multiple layups as Franxman and Dant racked a couple of blocked shots.

I said don't goto sleep on NCC. They are a heck of a team and play a tough zone D. Eagles still challenged with FT shooting with no answer in sight.

Pulling form the Eagles obviously. Either way should be a fun game to watch.

Always so hard to predict early in the season as coaches are sometimes still ironing out the kinks and managing thier subs. Scott comes in without one of thier key players but with a couple of games under thier belt they are starting to find thier rhythm. Can't sleep on NCC though. They have a great tradition, are well coached and have some good athletes.

Not overshadow Clephane's performance and defensive effort but a name quickly emerging as an offensive machine for Scott is Morgan Wagner. She hit multiple momentum shifting 3's and jumpers as well as played great defense. Dant again was a force in the paint refusing to be moved by the smaller Boone post player. Saner for Boone was amazing to watch as Boone leaned heavily on her in the 4th to close the gap. I only recall her missing 1 shot in the second half.

There were many "subjective" calls where either the refs didn't agree or those with a "better" view did not agree. Let's just chalk it up as early season rust for the refs knowing that just like the girls aren't perfect neither are they, but both will get better as the season goes on.

Scott jumped out to an early lead and though never trailed during the game never did really pull away. Congrats to both teams on a very fun game to watch.

This could be close for all the wrong reasons. Scott struggled scoring in the first half against Bourbon Co. and were able to hold the lead at the half on solid defensive performances by Clephane, Dant and Davis. The 2nd half saw shooting percentage climb quickly as Stevers, Wagner and Stapleton all found thier range from the arc repeatedly taking a huge league into the 4th qtr. Boone is athletic with new coach and new system could present challenges for the Eagles.

Truth be told RC they are probably carbon copies of each other cause everything you said could be said or has been about the other also.

I knew that and take nothing away from her in the least. Only that she is 1 of 4 seniors on a team where most have been starters for a couple of years, verses 1 of 2. Nothing but respect for her RC.

Not sure what you mean by fooled. But agree about the impact of senior players, though Kallmeyer's absence from Scott was probably more impact full on this game than Coffee's absence from HHS. Best of luck to both girls on speedy recoveries and both teams the rest of season. Be nice to battle again down the road with everybody healthy.
