Scott 73 Boone County 68

Featured Replies

Scott jumped out to an early lead and though never trailed during the game never did really pull away. Congrats to both teams on a very fun game to watch.

I guess coach still had a few tricks up her sleeve that she didn't teach the student....

I saw the rare double foul called tonight at this game. Why is it rare?? Charge and block called on the same play by the officials. Then the officials gave the ball back to the offensive team who did not have the possession arrow. Pretty much sums up the ugly team basketball played tonight, interrupted by some great individual performances..

Saner - Boone County

Clephane - Scott

I believe that is called a splarge? Should be called more frequently.

It should never be called since it can't be both.

However, BY RULE, if both officials come out with different signals it's a double foul. They cannot get together and decide who was right. Leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth but it is the rule.

It happens. Officials sees and comes out strong. Problem is his partner didn't wait or he didn't wait. Maybe he didn't hear the other whistle. Regardless, unfortunate.

Keep in mind though that it does not automatically go to the possession arrow. It depends on what the contact occurred. Most likely the shooter/dribble still had possession. If so, it stays with the offense. If the ball was released for the shot PRIOR to the contact you THEN go to the arrow.

Thanks Clyde for the clarification... Another one for you tonight official blew the whistle and signal foul then the horn blew to sound the quarter. He then waved off the call. Should this have been a foul?

If the foul occurs before the horn it counts.

Unless the official deemed that the horn had sounded prior to the foul then he can wave off his foul happens all the time where the horn and whistle goes off at the same time and the official waves off the foul due to the clock had expired prior to the act

But that is not how the play was described.

There were many "subjective" calls where either the refs didn't agree or those with a "better" view did not agree. Let's just chalk it up as early season rust for the refs knowing that just like the girls aren't perfect neither are they, but both will get better as the season goes on.

Not overshadow Clephane's performance and defensive effort but a name quickly emerging as an offensive machine for Scott is Morgan Wagner. She hit multiple momentum shifting 3's and jumpers as well as played great defense. Dant again was a force in the paint refusing to be moved by the smaller Boone post player. Saner for Boone was amazing to watch as Boone leaned heavily on her in the 4th to close the gap. I only recall her missing 1 shot in the second half.
