  1. I understand that 2 players don't make a complete team, but we are talking about 2 of the top players in the state, the 2 best players on the court, that control the ball 80% of the time...That in itself should keep them at least competitive. Goodin with 5 pts...seriously, a head scratcher indeed.
  2. Is the seeding perfect? No! But if you look at some of these teams....Doss, Central, Ballard, Butler, Fern Creek, they're wins & losses are all over the map. Consistency is not a stronghold. In the 2nd round there are some great matchups... Doss - PRP Eastern - Manual N. Bullitt - St. X Fern Creek - Central...will be a helter skelter showdown. Ballard could be playing a talented Waggener team. You pickem fellas...good luck!
  3. I can buy those rankings for now. I have not seen PRP play to this point, so cannot say if I could put them above FC...( They were a Jeckyl & Hyde scenario at the KOB) Bullitt East seems to be distancing themselves from the pack, having a solid performance at the "King." The middle of the pack will be a rotation of guards every week.
  4. After spending four complete days at the KOB, I was fortunate enough to see some of the top teams and players in the state. List goes as follows... 1) Carson Williams 2) David Sloan 3) Tyler Sharpe 3) Jacob King 5) Quentin Goodin
  5. The difference in this game is that...Bullitt East had Tyler Sharpe and Central didn't.
  6. I would in no way agree that BE would just be an average team in the 6th...Though U do raise a point, the real question would be...Would East keep pace with Fern Creek? Sharpe is a triple threat player, that brings physicality, who is one of the states best rebounding guards. That being said, I do believe that Bullitt East would miss a beat, but just how many beats would that be?
  7. Another solid type performance by East, high quality leadership in the backcourt. Rakes was huge during two key runs in the 2nd half, as Sharpe seemed to have a sort of quiet 21 pts. Brandon Klefot keeps on going with his string of solid games. And Sheriff you are exactly right by mentioning Polson, providing much needed rebounding off the bench, may be the best glass man on the squad! Looks to be another challenging matchup Monday night against Central.
  8. I have no argument with these rankings...Bullitt East and Fern Creek seem to be the class of this region ( will have to see how the Tre Hill situation effects FC ). North Bullitt off to a really good start, although they lack any inside presence. Looks like quite a log jam in the middle of the pack, will be interesting to see if any of those teams can break out to be a contender...Fairdale & Moore seem to be the two biggest disappointments to date.
  9. A tough, physical, and a bit of a sloppy game. A good win for East, facing a different style of play...Sharpe with 30pts. Klefot with a double-double...
  10. Tyler Sharpe Bullitt East had a great July playing with Team Manimal. He led scoring in the Under Armour Finals as well as AAU Nationals in Louisville where he averaged 19 points a game with 34, 26, 24, and 22 point games against top competition. He also shot 55% from the 3 point line & scored 21 in Championship loss leading all scorers. He has improved tremendously on defense and finishing at the rim as well. His toughness and will to win makes him play taller than his 6'1 height. Looking forward to watching him this year at BE. I am told he has offers from UPike, Cinci Christian, KY State, and Indiana Southeast and is being seriously recruited by Lincoln Memorial(has visited), SEMO(visiting in Sept), and interest from EKU, Lee, Evansville, Tenn Tech, Navy
  11. Good to see that Bullitt East has 4 players on this list, I know all of these boys have been working hard. Should be an exiting year for the Chargers.
  12. Fern Creek with no less than 6 players on this list...Whose coaching this team Calipari? If they keep this nucleus, I see a state title in the near future...
  13. 1) Bullitt East 2) Butler 3) Mercy 4) North Bullitt
  14. Looking for a big year from the Lady Chargers. They return they're top 7-8 players, coming off a Regional final loss to Mercy. A regional final team that was predominantly a Sophmore class. Now entering they're Jr. season, along with a couple of rising Soph's, they should be solid from the get go. Anchored by the top Jr. to be in the state ( Lindsey Duvall ), they should have a great shot of representing the always tough 6th region in Bowling Green.
  15. Should be a really good year for the Chargers. Looks to be the favorite in the 6th, and possibly make a run in the Sweet 16...Positives:1) A Senior - laden squad, which has played together for several years. 2) Solid backcourt play, with leadership qualities, added with solid depth, with the added quality of players who can hit the jumper or take u off the dribble. 3) Good frontcourt with size and athletic ability, with good shooting range and low post moves. 4) Having one of the best snipers in the state ( Tyler Sharpe ) who can stretch and keep any defense honest is always a plus.... Concerns: 1) Frontcourt depth, besides Farris & Klefot, who is going to step up, they must find some solid contributors, maybe the addition of Konnor Polson may help? 2) Rebounding, team needs to improve overall from last year. 3) Continuity, coaches and players need to be more in sync with each other, this was a problem for much of last year....The overall outlook is quite high for this team!
  16. Hats off again to the KOB committee, looks like this is set up to be another great tourney. Some of the best teams in the state, along with top talented players in the this state as well. Also bringing in some top level national talent. Already looking forward, I'm sure the house will be packed as usual. No doubt this is one of the top tournaments in the region year after year!
  17. With Tyler Sharpe, Jared Farris, Brandon Klefot, Bailey Rakes, and the Ezell brothers, Bullitt East will be the favorites coming into next season. The next best could come out of the same Disrtrict with Fern Creek returning most of it's young team, with high skilled talent. After that Doss, Fairdale, PRP, and maybe even Moore making a little noise. You cannot leave Tony Washington (Fern Creek) off this regional watch, also a player that has not been mentioned that has game, is Jared Free (North Bullitt) he has a little swagger along with his skill set!
  18. Since the coach directly said that to the young man, I am going to lean with that he missed the timeout call. See in the last 5 games or so, the coach has used this player more and more, especially down the stretch of games against teams who pressure. And for the most part the kid has handled the situation very well, he gave East that extra ball handler they needed. I would think most everyone was thinking he should be in the game at this time, especially with Klefot out, he was they're best option. As I said before "Not Making" the timeout call is a head scratcher to say the least. This should have been one of those calls (the timeout) that was a done by automatic instinct. You keep the ball with around 18 seconds left, and work for a descent shot or foul off the drive...WOW!!!
  19. I stayed for three qtrs. and was a little surprised as how easily Desales was handling FC...Should be a good final!
  20. He did come back in twice, but could not compete at a level. So they would take him right back out. My guess is he told the coaches he could, so they tried.
  21. Glad u brought up the play at the end of regulation, with the ball in the hands of the BE freshman... With about 18 seconds left he got trapped on the sidelines pretty much in front of his own bench. My question is..."Did East have a timeout left to take?" If so, it was a No-Brainer of a call to make by the coach who was standing right there. There was time to call it before the steal occurred. After the game a few people said that East had no timeouts remaining....But I personally talked to a score keeper who said that in the overtime East had 2 timeouts to take, which would mean they had 1 left in regulation. I would really like to know the truth concerning this question!!!
  22. Thanks for pointing this huge fact out...Losing Klefot early in the game was a pretty big deal. East has a shallow bench, with no one having the type of game that Klefot has. He is a versatile 6'4 wing, who plays at the top of the zone that East usually plays, he really harasses the guards out top with his movement and wingspan. Actually he is the key player to they're zone defense! He is usually good for 10-15 pts. a game, and 6 or more boards. This was a very unfortunate blow for the kid and East. I have to believe that this game may have had a different outcome.
  23. Listened to the 2nd half on the radio, must admit, i kept waiting and expecting the Chargers to collapse in the final minutes, since they're season typically ends in such fashion. But Wow, they stuck together and stayed strong, fighting off the final push from the Bearettes. They must keep their minds focused, North Bullitt is waiting, and are very capable of making the finals themselves!
