Save this post for 1 year+ from now......According to a good source, EJ will end up at a MAC School in Ohio after SC. In the world of NIL and transfer portal, the groundwork is already being laid before he steps foot onto SC campus.

After I made the original post, my source corrected me and told me it was up to 20 "parents and former players" that came forward, which means its probably was less than 20 'victims.' Still don't understand an investigation for allegations that would have had to occur with dozens of witnesses around.

Evidently the leader in the efforts against Scott has been identified. My source says that "up to 20 former players" were involved in going to the Diocese. Strange to me, that even if 20 players were actual "victims" of "verbal abuse" (more like hard coaching / unequal playing time, in my opinion), that even though basketball is a team sport and Virtus requirements dictate multiple coaches or people present in high school athletics program, that the other 180+ players to play at CCH in 13 seasons haven't come forward about it. In my opinion, the supposed 20 players were likely not starters on the 2014 or 2018 teams. Just speculation.

Ruby is not a family member with the Ruthsatz.... Believe he had a grandchild/step-grandchild who attended and played basketball at CCH.... Not sure how or why he would be involved with this.

That could be a factor, but it still doesn't make sense to take into account allegations to open an investigation, and then just sit on the investigation for 9 months. My guess is if Scott hadn't resigned, they would have moved on the investigation. However, it would/could have impeded his ability to seek a coaching job elsewhere the last 9 months had he been looking for one.

As far as I'm aware, the Bishop asked Ruthsatz, "do you want us to finish this investigation?" to which he replied yes. No time table was set. Nick does bring up an interesting point, that Virtus rules require more than 1 adult to be present with any diocesan student (player) and coach....Why would CCH not ask bystanders about the specific 'verbal abuse' incidents?

Full timeline to now as I see it: •May 2011: Scott Ruthsatz was hired at Head Boy's Basketball Coach at Covington Catholic •May 2013: Scott hired Joe Frederick, who helped him in the job interview process 12 months prior, as his top assistant. -So for 11/13 years of success (the 1st 2 years being when Fredericks' son was on the team), Frederick was the top assistant •March 2024: Joe Frederick resigned/was let go (see Meeting with Diocese at bottom of post) •Early May 2024, Scott Ruthsatz was called to the Diocese to meet with 2 'higher up ladies,' who asked him questions about specific practice drills and the culture of his program •May 28th, 2024: Scott Ruthsatz resigns from Covington Catholic as Head Boy's Basketball Coach, citing the desire to spend more time in his family's business and with his family (father of 7 children) -Over the previous 13 seasons, he accumulated a 363-79 record (82%), winning two state titles, making it to four Final Fours, and winning 6 region titles/10 district titles - the all time winningest coach in school history -The statement from Covington Catholic was “We are actively searching for a new head basketball coach,” said Bob Rowe, principal. Later that day, Tony and Scott met with Joe to explain to him he will be fired because of the allegations -Joe then met with Deacon Fortner after resigning, where the Deacon told him that indeed it came from the Diocese -Joe then contacted the Diocese himself, and received a signed letter proclaiming his innocence, and that no such allegations exist, and that he is free to teach or coach at any Diocesan school -According to the caption of Nick's video, 9 months ago the Diocese presented Scott with 'allegations of verbal abuse.' Please share this post whether publically or privately to help our voice be heard if it wasn’t for the past support we wouldn’t have made it this far. Really means a lot Next video will go over how to get a coach under investigation in the Covington diocese. Lastly will be reaching out to past alumni, players & parents to confirm if they were involved in making allegations or not. Will go more into detail in video. Its been 9 months since my dad was told their were “Allegations”. Still unfinished to this day. Note theres is not one video,text,email or phone call of any evidence of “verbal abuse.” From past CCH parents & players…Nothing…. Everything is “he said she said”. Think about that… Remember this could all be solved rather quickly. Every single “Verbal Abuse” situation there were multiple people in the room. My dad was well aware that he could not be with a student alone. All situations had MULTIPLE WITNESSES… Its all really simple…. Bring the disgruntled CCH parents in a room. Bring in the other CCH coaches,players & staff that were in that same room. Let the disgruntled parents & players explain what happened.. Then let the other CCH players, coaches & staff confirm or not. Done. Let’s reiterate my dad was never sent to the diocese ever in his 13 years before last May. These people’s “Allegations” are he said she said.. 0 facts to back anything up… At the meeting the bishop asked if we wanted them to finish the investigation. Basically him saying do you want me to do my job…yes sir 8 months ago would of been nice. The human side of the diocese staff has to have some empathy & not make our family have to post on social media and get lawyers involved to get a response or any movement on these “allegations”. At this point our family doesn’t believe we can trust anything except action. Even then the diocese hasn’t been transparent the entire process so why would they start now? Our family has done everything we can & ready to move on. If you want our family to have any association with Covington Catholic in the future it will take past players,coaches, alumni & CCH students that had him in class stepping up. Our family isn’t from here & don’t have the alumni generations that many families do at Covcath. It’s going to take some people that have been deep in the community for decades to make a stand. It takes too much energy & money for our family to try and make the diocese do their job. At the end of the day its a hall of fame. My family has new opportunities to look forward to & can’t be worrying about things they can’t control. We have reached out to past coaches & players from the years my dad coached. From now on myself & other coaches will be in charge of all reunions and get togethers. Not CCH.. well they can certainly try LOL…Look forward to doing things & treating people the right way

I heard it was possibly because St Henry had the ceremony to officially rename their court after Faust night, and didn't want to battle CCH that night, so they elected to schedule a different team to play instead. No idea if its true or not, but heard from an area AD.

May be wrong, but I believe Nick lives in Florida. Good question regarding media....is the media afraid to go after CCH / Diocese? Just a question, not implying or insinuating anything. I haven't lived in NKY since before the Sandmann deal, and from afar it seems CovCath is far more buttoned up than they used to be. Perhaps the Ruthsatz / Diocese meeting will reveal more, whenever it is to occur.

Yes, I can and I did. That's why I apologized, sir or madam. I stand by my point though, that if a 17 year kid is in a "negative environment and 'may be in the worst spot of anyone'" (in whatever context you were referring to) he probably wouldn't perform well like that on the basketball court. Just my opinion. You do not have to accept it.

1. I am saying that your comment regarding "CLEARLY not the path" was too soon. 2. I must have misunderstood your comment about the brother. I didn't know you were that when you referred to a "negative environment and 'may be in the worst spot of anyone'" that you weren't talking about basketball, on this High School Sports website. My apologies for the lack of understanding. But, if it makes you feel better about this topic (that you have no dog in the fight for) then sure.

According to Bluegrasspreps.com, in this forum on page 16, you made the post on Monday February 10th at 2:02pm. According to Nick's video, the Diocese set a meeting. The date of said meeting seems not to have happened yet, as Nick said he will stop posting until after the meeting. So, maybe in the next few weeks or something the meeting will take place. I guess we will know when he begins posting about the topic again. You did not, sir or madam. You said he was creating a negative environment and 'may be in the worst spot of anyone.' Call me crazy, but usually 17 year olds don't perform well on the basketball court when they are in a negative environment or in the worst spot of anyone. Just my opinion, but what do I know.

It appears as if they are going to get an explanation from the diocese, based off publicly shining the light on this issue, and his little brother('s play) seems to be unaffected by his going about the issue. Those 2 clearly proved your post (see highlighted portion) wrong, no?

That is a cool video and quote. "Nolan against the world" in the video...Good for that young man to focus on basketball and winning. Ironic that the Ruthsatz' family success on the basketball court, ultimately, is what drove us into this mess. Would still be great to find out: 1) who is behind the alleged May meeting with "2 women at the top of the Diocese" that led to Scott's decision to resign 2) who is behind the rescinding of the HOF induction, AFTER CovCath announced it My guess, FWIW, is a parent or group of parents who were upset their son wasn't talented enough (their words would probably be 'wasn't given an opportunity') to play during his 13 undisputed successful seasons.

The question still remains: Why would they publicly announce his induction, and privately rescind it?

A good game from Covcath.org livestream... Colonels are scrappy and tough... Newport has the talent and came out swinging, but once CovCath settled in Wildcats couldn't get into any flow. Newport is talented but didn't impose their will for the most part after first few minutes. Rondon looks to have matured a bit, but still similar to how he was at Cooper - doesn't impact the game enough without the ball. The potential with Turner is there, but he still has some development needed this summer. A kid with his size, length, athleticism....His skill needs to improve dramatically, and hopefully playing on a circuit team this summer and GETTING IN THE GYM will help him. Wasn't impressed with Starks, though from what I've heard he's much, much better than what he showed tonight. Anderson is solid - was not familiar with him before tonight. CovCath has the fire power and shoutout to Bradshaw for his rebounding. Saved the game at some points. Without him, Newport may get 60+ FG's to CovCath's 38. The Colonels defense will carry them down the road. Obviously McGillis and Harney are going to score, but at some point you hope a 3rd guy can get to the double figures. Solid high school basketball game on a Friday night. Looked like a great environment.
