Little Ram

Nathaniel Davidson QB'd for the varsity. They also rotated Damien Black in as well. Davidson is looking sharp. Putting a nice touch on the ball and delivering it where it gives the receiver a chance. Had a great first day. I honestly think he's going to be a great QB for the Rams. Had a few misreads but always gave the receiver a great chance. He also had a few back shoulder throws that were simply amazing. He will be a great 2 year QB if he wins the job.

Great kid and a great athlete. He deserves this more than anyone else.

I agree. Paintsville returns, I believe, their whole front line as well. Paintsville will be a very big challenge for the Rams. What I will be looking for is their play in the third and fourth quarters. I see Paintsville taking a halftime lead but giving it up in the second half. Raceland will be in better shape. I can almost guarantee that. But the only thing no one can predict is the injuries. Will there be injuries prior to the game...? I guess we will find out. It will be a great game. No doubt. And a great second game barring a playoff run for both teams.

Raceland Varsity won the tournament yesterday and went 7-0 on the day. Looked very sharp on day 1. Ironton also looked good and lost to Raceland in pool play and lost to Boyd County in the semi finals. Sheldon Clark and Greenup had two teams each. Raceland had three. Ironton had two as well. Lewis and Boyd had one team each. Today, Raceland Varsity went 5-1 and lost in the semis to Fleming County. Fleming County and Ironton played in the finals and Ironton won. Rams looked a little worn down from day 1 and needs to hit sprints hard next week. Everyone looked sharp and did well.

Well, there are some days that they go for about 3 hours. I was incorrect about the change being permanent. There are also some other days that they do indeed do two-a-days. So, I guess yet could be a little of both. I hate that they have changed the rules. It's football for Peat sake. I understand "heat strokes" and crap but come on. It's supposed to be hard.

I'm really liking Raceland's shot at a state title appearance. Only kickstand I see may be Pikeville and possibly Paintsville. Other than that, I don't see anyone really stopping the Rams on the east side of the bracket. Hazard may shock people but I just don't see them getting past Pikeville.

Stopped by Russell today and they held their conditioning test. Had about 85 kids there today. Good numbers for Russell.

In my honest opinion, I totally forgot about them. I haven't read much on them recently, however, from years past they should be close to a 5. I don't know about having them above Painstville, but possibly ahead of Hazard would be a good argument.

If hazard isn't in the top 5, that HAVE to be 6. Don't doubt. Paintsville, Pikeville, and Hazard, IMO, could be flip flopped anywhere from 4-6. I dont know about Raceland being 2. Lost a talented class last year. Most of the line is back, but a new QB is in question. I like Frankfort in the two spot and Raceland at 3 for pre-season thoughts. I won't know where Raceland is until after camp.

Heard Salmons is doing way with the two-a-days and combing the two practices into a 4 hour practice. Sounds idiotic to me.
