Little Ram

I heard that Kentucky is sending the National Guard to patrol all roads in and out of the state. Word is they are keeping an eye on for a McPeek or two. They are rare and dangerous.

I'm gonna get this off my chest to speak for Raceland, Ashland, Russell, Boyd, Greenup, etc. GREAT football programs don't have one near-perfect season and say "we are the best". Doesn't happen. A great football program isn't built over night, it is built over years and years of excellence. Fairview had two great seasons-which have been rendered- and the other schools, like you mentioned, Raceland and Ashland, have had numerous amounts of great seasons (ie: Raceland has had four losing season since the program started in 1928). So if you're telling me that schools like Belfry, Raceland, and Ashland are complaining and/or doing things wrong, you're the one who is incorrect. They have been doing it for years and years. Obviously Belfry does better than Raceland or Ashland as of now but my point is made. Do things right and lord knows what may happen.

So if I went with you to go murder someone and you were the one who shot the guy and I just stood there and said "yeah. Good shot", I guess that means I'm innocent. Not in America or Kentucky my friend. Hate that for ya.

He walks again.

Ram got up about two hours ago and walked the hospital circle twice under his own power! He is doing really well as the day has progressed. The wound has healed really fast thus far and looks very good and healthy. He is being ole Ram as he usually is–sarcastic and a smart-allelic. Lol. All is well right now and recovery is going well. Again, thank you all for the extended thoughts and prayers. This sure is one hell of a site.

Most definitely! I was able to have my first medical lesson and was allowed to repack his wound! Pretty interesting stuff! Ram says he feels much better. He has been up and walking around the hospital block twice now! Feels much better heading into the evening. When he woke up, he did not feel well at all but things are continuing to progress. I will keep you all updated.

I was able to help Ram get up and stand. He was able to stand on his own with assistance from the back of a chair. He has a lot of pain today but is bearing what he can. A lot of positives this morning from Ram. What's a Ram if it doesn't have scars? LOL. Things are progressing.

I don't think the AD will be firing anyone who is winning 11 games a year. A high school coaches job is to win HIGH SCHOOL games. If he had to do the same stuff that you do, he wouldn't be a high school coach. After reading further, it seems like you know basketball more than football. That's fine because I rarely discuss basketball on here. Football is different. The recruiting process is long and drawn out, as you already know. It definitely is not an easy process. However, exposure is the most important key in recruiting. No ifs, ands, or butts. It goes hand and hand with on-field performance. There is no way around exposure. It is the obvious key. I'm sorry.

But according to gametime, they shouldn't transfer down. Their talent has found its level. Why won't they transfer to another D1 school instead of to a D2 school? I enjoy watching D1 football. It's a different level of football compared to D2 and D3. But let's get this out there, kids who are recruited by D1 school have made their mind up that they want to play at a big time school. Growing up, I'm not 100% convince I ever wanted to play D1. Not because I didn't think I was good enough, but because I wasn't interested in being at a big school and the class sizes being 200. I could have, but CHOSE not too. It's not about how good they are. It's about where they want to play and what they have to do (work and exposure wise) to get there. I wanted to play at a smaller college. I wanted the family atmosphere. Do I want to play in front of 100,000 people??? Oh heck yeah! But I'd rather play in front of 20,000 and get what I want: both athletically and academically. I'd say roughly 30% of all D1 athletes are freaky good and have worked their butts off to play D1. But I'd say the last 30% want to be there because it was their dream to walk a D1 field, play in front of 100,000 fans, or to wear that "____" on their jersey. And the middle 40%, is a combination of the two.

You're going to tell me that Talent finds its level? That every D2 kid is supposed to be a D2 kid? That every NAIA kid is as good as NAIA? That every D3 kid can only play D3? And D1 kids are where they should be? That is absurd in every aspect. While I believe most of the D1 kids are where they should be, D2, D3, and NAIA is a mixture. I personally know someone who could have played D1 but chose D3. In my own experience, I could have played D1 FCS but I chose NAIA. The point of "Talent finds its level" is the densest statement I have heard from anyone on here in awhile. If you don't plan on playing D1, even if you have the opportunity to, then you have other factors that may play in other than football: school, location, teacher/student ratio, etc. you cannot convince me other wise that "talent finds its place". But I will agree that most D1 kids are where they should be. But D2, D3, and NAIA are not like that at all. And I would be the one to know, considering I'm playing here.

I believe Raceland would play Johnson Central but I think Coach Salmons would like to play there every year just like Raceland plays at Ashland every year. Along with the great competition that those teams bring, Raceland would want the money end of the deal too. That's just my honest opinion. I want JC and Raceland to play every year. No doubt in my mind it would bring a huge crowd and a lot of money to where ever it is held. I also think it would be good for both teams to play someone they are not used to playing (if it is just a two year contract). I know Raceland wouldn't mind playing every year as we play Ashland every year as well.
