Great and well deserved honor for a great athlete.

Great kid and a great athlete. He deserves this more than anyone else.

Conner, as anyone can tell from the article, is a leader on and off the field, court and track.

I have been around Raceland athletics for a very long time around 50 years as a student, alum and fan and I honestly believe that Messer just may be the best (or certainly one of them) athlete that has ever came out of Raceland - Raceland/Worthington schools. As former NFL Coach Bum Phillips said about legendary football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant ........ " If he's not in a class by himself but it sure as hell don't take long to call the roll".

“I think, when people produce, if they’re really good at what they do, people try to bring them down,” Salmons said. “And I think that’s what happened to him. He’s been really good for a long time. People knew he was coming, and people get jealous of success. ... Connor’s not got a jealous bone in his body, and he’s not the least bit selfish.”

I take this quote from the article because it can not be overstated. I think Conner received more jealous criticism than any other area player I have seen.

His response has always been, every time, to say nothing. Not one word.

He's a flat out athlete and seemed like a great kid. Deserved!

Absolutely, and a lot of that bashing came from a certain area .....Conner Messer has more class in his little finger than all of those who were bashing him have in their entire body ! Certainly not all from that area were bashing but the minority that were had bigger / louder mouths.

May never see another all-around athlete like him in RAM Nation.

You're right. We do with less!
