Which are once again, incomplete - missing St. Henry v Simon Kenton girls soccer, and 3 of the 5 volleyball games from last night. Lookin bad skinny.

I can understand the print version, but not updating the web? No one is expecting football or basketball level coverage for volleyball, but they do expect the bare minimum, which would be the scores. Problem for the Enquirer is, they are readily available that night from other sports web sites and social media sources, not to mention the KHSAA scoreboard. I'm sure the reason is the schedule didn't load correctly or something like that, but when you hub resources in far away cities and copy and paste everything without checking, that's what happens.

I would describe it as consistently incomplete. Yesterday is a typical example - scores reported for NCC v CC and Villa v Newport. Missed Dixie v Lloyd, Brossart v Augusta, and Boone Co v Conner. I understand scores sometimes not making the print edition due to deadlines. But do you not update your website? Even today, at 11am the day after, NKY.com still only shows 2 matches played yesterday - and is missing the scores for the other 3. Problem is, many other sources do have the scores and are reporting them the night of - so it's not an issue of scores not being available. I would advise volleyball fans to look beyond all Enquirer owned media sources for complete, up to date information.

I would say this was a surprising outcome since most had this match pegged as a toss up between 2 fairly similar teams. I don't think anyone predicted a 3-0 sweep by either team. I would also add that if the supposed best team in the 10th region can't hold a 13-2 lead in a set, then I would say the 10th region is wide open and up for grabs this year.

Conventional wisdom says NCC, but gut says Campbell County. NCC already has 3 losses, including Beechwood and straight sets to Henry Clay and Mother of Mercy. Whoever has the better back row that night will win.

So u r saying that at a private Catholic school, a coaches' private life has no bearing, it's not a factor. And when coaching your kids, the past is the past, no matter what. Also, you want me to "stop digging up dirt" to use your words, but you also want me to post "something real". So which is it? That would seem to be conflicting demands by you, and your happiness is my #1 goal.

You have a mark iii? I should be getting advice from you! Just get a 50 and 85mm prime and you will be all set. Use your feet as the zoom. All those expensive f2.8 zooms to me just don't get the job done. Big difference from 2.8 to 1.8, compare side by side and you will see it. I have settings saved on my DSLR just for volleyball, it's so unique it's only for that. I shoot only manual, and turn off most of the goodies because they slow things down - you want AF on all the time, and minimum focus points to shorten focus time. It's the hardest sport to shoot without a doubt.

Message me if u want to know how to take good volleyball pictures. I do it at a pro level. It is possible even in the darkest, smallest gym. Ball frozen, in focus, and bright. It requires a good DSLR to start, but more importantly, it's about your lens, not the camera body. And for all you weekend warrior volleyball photographers out there - you are never, ever, ever supposed to use flash at a volleyball match. If u don't have a DSLR with fast lenses at F1.8 (that lens that came bundled with your camera won't work for this) just leave your camera at home, or take posed pictures before or after the match.

Seems like everyone is defining success by how many games they win. I always thought being a HS coach was about character, not W-L. Think about the greatest HS coach you know... And I bet they are great in your mind because of what they taught you about life, not the games they won. As others have confirmed, Mr. Collins has a checkered private past, on top of his public turmoil at previous High Schools. U can't teach a dog new tricks, and this just in - pro athletes sometimes aren't the best role models. It's a question of character, not wins.

Are things are so bad at Cov Cath that the only hope lies with mythical 8th grade championships and 1 day of Freshman practice? Good luck beating Highlands with that.

Kentucky is considered a sort of hot bed for Volleyball, mostly due to outstanding teams from Louisville. Ron Kordes put Assumption and the state on the national map. Texas and California are the biggest volleyball hotspots in the country.

His previous coaching stints at Mason HS and Springboro HS both contained controversy and allegations.... I don't have answers to those questions, maybe you or someone else does. I agree expectations are high at ND, but aren't they every year? Isn't every year a referendum for every coach not named Dale Mueller, Ron Dawn, or Maureen Kaiser?

Still worth posting. Sustained Excellence is never easy and should always be celebrated. Highlands Football is going to win state every year, so are u saying it's not worth posting about?

I would say the usual there - North or South Oldham at the top, take your pick. I'll give the nod to South. As for the rest.. I don't see any surprises this year.

Unknown, I would say the usual reasons. I believe team chemistry matters more in volleyball than any other sport. It's the kind of thing that is hard to describe but u know it when u see it... And we'll find out soon who has it and who doesn't.
