NewCath varsity 5-0 so far, however I a frosh playing on the JV and they were beat by Tates Creek and Allen Central on Friday at Lex. Paul Dunbar HS. Today at Henry Clay they beat Murray, Hopkinsville, & Perry County Central, before falling to Caldwell County 2-1. One and out starts tomorrow at Lexington Christian.

BTW, Dunbar's gym was huge!!! Also, neat how outside the gym and lining all the walls they had framed picture and plaque of every athlete that ever was a state champ in a particular sport......very classy.

Simon Kenton's varsity and JV looked very good thus far as well.

Ryle and Newcath in top bracket and could face each other in semi-finals. Simon Kenton in the bottom bracket, these are the only Nky teams without a loss.

JV falls to Scott Co this morning, Varsity makes quick work of Henderson Co., play the winner of Tates Creek and Lou. Eastern.

NewCath Varsity lose a tough 2-1 decision against Lou. Eastern.

Very impressed with how good high school V-ball in KY is getting. I saw lots of these teams yesterday and they were all really fun to watch.

Volleyball is the top High School sport in Kentucky....

But shares a bed with 2 others on BGP.

 

Kentucky is considered a sort of hot bed for Volleyball, mostly due to outstanding teams from Louisville. Ron Kordes put Assumption and the state on the national map.

Texas and California are the biggest volleyball hotspots in the country.
