The Camels have the horses to win this one. In order to do so, CC must be able to effectively run the ball to chew up the clock. Dowds doesn't have to have 200 yards rushing but the O-Line must allow him to dink and dunk his way to gaining first downs. The Camels must not get caught up in any sort of trash talking and commit mindless personal fouls. If they keep their heads and focus on the task, this will be a hidden key factor as well.

Is Brossart on the rise again? Is CC going to have a down year? I'm not surprised BBHS won, but I'm a little surprised at the margin of victory.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Daniel Craig (Newport Central Catholic) – 12 tackles by this sophomore against 4A Scott on Friday – yes sophomore. 10 were solo tackles. Craig made the varsity roster at NCC last season, and I think we’re be looking at something special on The Hill with this athlete. With a name like that, I'd say Mr. Craig played some ball like a British special agent.

I'd say that's a pretty accurate statement. Dixie is a scrappy team and I hope they rack up some wins this year. Campbell has a lot of weapons but will need to eliminate a lot of momentum killing mistakes if they want to have the season they are capable of.

How many false start penalties have there been? A lot of laundry on the field.

Dowds gets some reps at LB.

I also would like to see a few plays run under center. It could be effective every now and again to keep defenses guessing. Dowds is a force and will punish any oncoming defender when he gets some momentum going. I saw 2 Dixie players immediately come off the field after tackling him when he was charging at them. I hope they're ok. Credit the CC offensive line also. They played well and bought time for Hoeh and opened some lanes for Dowds. On the defensive side of the ball, Anderson was all over the field and made plays all night. I really like Reid Jolly on D. This kid has grown significantly in the offseason and he had a great game. I like the new CC secondary but it was hard to get a read on them because Dixie didn't throw much. Next week at Highlands will give us a better indication of their impact.

Camels D needs a better series this time. Dowds has had a phenomenal game.
