Dayton/Bishop Brossart Updates

Featured Replies

The Brossart Mustangs will host the Dayton Greendevils in a 1A independent clash to kick-off the 2017 season tonight (Saturday) at Campbell County High School in Claryville.

Game time is 7pm. Live broadcast via the BMustangs.com website starting at 6:45pm. index

Brossart is coming off of an 8-3 campaign which saw the graduation of six quality seniors, while the Greendevils are senior-laden this year.

Should be a good opening night test for both teams on the carpet in Claryville.

Brossart will play all four of their home games at Campbell County High School this season, while the field at the Campbell County Middle School is being re-surfaced.

Thanks to CCHS for the use of their facilities!

Good luck Mustangs!

Looking forward to seeing the game tonight.

This might be a good one. Last year it was competitive until Devils ran out of gas at the end. Brossart offense was way more dynamic and diverse than Dayton last year so it will be interesting to see if Dayton has improved there. Heat and conditioning will play a part as these are 1A schools with not a lot of bodies. Dayton will have to be better on defense and special teams because I think Brossart has the edge on offense because they will be able to throw it better. Dayton is kind of keying on this being a good year and with Bellevue and Ludlow putting decent games together last night they need a good showing. None of them will challenge Beechwood at all but the 2-4 spots are up for grabs. Brossart will be very competitive in their district as it might be even closer than last year.

Dayton should be better this season in comparison to the past few seasons . The critical thing will be remaining healthy as a team, which is always the biggest challenge for teams with smaller numbers. Having Hundemer and Chinn back in the backfield is big, line play will be the big thing that tells how they will do offensively. Good luck to both teams.

Thanks for the info everyone and hopefully one or more of you can keep us all updated on the game.

Big first play Macdonald to McGrath 35 yard pass

Drive stalled, 4 to down ball on Dayton 30

Good defense Devils after giving up the first big pass play.
