Very balanced district that will be wide open. I have no idea who would be considered the favorite, Collins and Spencer return the most starters.

Not trying to be negative but some of those jobs on that list that are left open I don't know why some people would want to take them.

Amen Reason! It is time for all of the administration and the community to rally as one behind Coach B. We all know their will be ups and downs and they have to push through the low points to reap the successes. They need to look at the big picture, they need to unite and let the program prosper. The pressure now is on the supporters of the school within the community! No more excuses, support the program!

I don't know what is considered "big names". Did Bob Beatty apply? Chris Wolf? Mike Glaser coming out of retirement for this job? Mike Jackson leaving Ballard for this job? Bob Redman throw his hat in the ring?

The coach will be in place soon and all of Mercer County can rejoice!

Harry you said it pretty well. I also want to congratulate Dennis. I am sure he will assemble a nice staff. I am glad he got his chance at Woodford, mercer would have been a tough place to start your head coaching career.

Again you can rush the hire and make a bad one or show a little patience and get it right. You are correct the quicker the better but don't make the hire in haste.

I am really curious how the media handles this hire.

There is plenty of time for that. They will a spring practice and 3 weeks in June as long as they getsomeone in place by mid April they will be fine. That is assuming they have someone currently doing the ff season.

Why does everyone want schools to rush? Why not make sure the right hire is made?

47 wins over a 5 year period of which 11 of those were playoff wins.

Won't give names but here is some info over the last 5 years of the candidates I heard. Now all of these guys could have pulled their name after the interview not for sure. 47 wins (11 playoff wins), 24 wins (2 playoff wins), 37 wins (4 playoff wins).

I hear they are interviewing two current head coaches and one former head coach who is out of state now. Dont know when the decision will take place.

Don't know what Franklin has returning, Collins and Spencer return a bunch. North Oldham and Shelby were hit pretty hard with graduation. 5 pretty solid teams in this district.

I agree with the assessment, the district they are in is one of the tougher in 4A. Collins definitely has some talent but John Hardin is at a different level. District 4 enjoyed the last four years being on the weaker side of 4A, now they are on the strong side of 4A. There will be no easy games trying to get to BG.

North Oldham started 8 or 9 seniors on both sides. Think they return a couple of oline starters and a couple of linebackers. I am sure coach Martin will have his bunch ready to compete.

Collins

The sophomore QB doesn't have a full year of experience. They started a senior last year for a large portion of the season.

Capt278 I agree 100%. There are a lot of things behind the scenes that just make this a tough job.

Not easy going home!

Collins is definitely in the 5-10 range. They are extremely talented but John Hardin will be their roadblock. Collins my be able to get out to the Region Championship but they will not have the horses to run with JH.

"huge gap", I can't make a comment like that but I feel pretty confident in saying the most talented team is John Hardin. The only reason I put them second is they may be one year away but their talent is scary.
