Newport 61 Lloyd 44 Game was much better than expected but Newport pulled away in the 4th

I'll take Newport by 10, Snapp will Be too much to defend and if it Kameron Covington is mentally in the game he will not have much trouble in the paint against Boone

Unofficial stat but if my counting was right Augusta finished 21/26 from the line Lloyd 5/8

This game was the worst officiating that I've ever witnessed, I take nothing away from Augusta as those boys played hard and Snapp is a really nice player but those officials were just awful!

Sorry no stats, I usually do keep my own stat sheet during games but was busy on video for this one, Lloyd played some strong defense but missed a lot of shots on the other end of the floor, In my opinion they will get better as the year goes on with having a new guard that likes to distribute the ball at times it seemed other kids were not ready for the passes that came their way, had they made shots in the paint he could have ended up with over 20 assists, very nice combo with having Townsend and Donovan at the 1&2

I hear rumors that there have been a couple kids move into the school district that will fit in very well with Coach Key's style of play and could provide for some immediate help to the team, the names I've heard are kids (2 kids in particular) that I have personally watched on the AAU scene that can flat out play against anyone, I would be excited to watch them play school ball together, Now of course it is just rumors and i'm interested to see what school they are enrolled at come next week.

He has been playing both with the Royals from what I've seen, I've chatted with a couple of the parents of kids on this team while seeing them at different tournaments and all are very nice people and supportive of their son's hectic scheduling during AAU.

I didnt know that Manica still played with these guys, (unless I just think he is a different kid)

I've been able to watch the 17u a handful of times this spring in Cincinnati and in the state tournament and it I think Kunstek really stands out, Stockwell is solid but he seemed really off his game in the state tournament, With his size and his room for improvement I think the sky is the limit for him and i look forward to seeing him progress and become a dominant post player. Do you know much about these guys? I know there are a handful of kids on this 17u team that also play on the NKY Celtics/Royals 16u team with Rodney Moore, Any word when the 16u or 17u plays next? I really enjoy watching these kids play, win or lose they are always impressive and very talented groups (both 16u and 17u)

From what I understand they have a very solid player coming up, I think his name is Brendan Stanley (not the Stanley from Boone Co) but I've been told he is a really promising player and plays AAU ball for a Lexington team, other than that I've heard nothing about anyone else, Harden is an exceptional coach and probably one of the best in the area

Brandon Moore (Holmes) was there and now is playing with them again, but he is the only one I recognized

I Was able to watch them play this past weekend but didnt recognize the kids that were on the team although if memory is right they had at least 10-12 players

Snapp,Donovan and the Andersons no longer play for them

There were 2 separate Hoop Dreams teams in the 17u, both very strong teams!!

The 1st and 3rd were the 2 games I watched, they started out down big in both games and climbed right back in them to make them solid fun games to watch.

Watching them this weekend they are a lot more talented than what their record this weekend showed, Very solid team!

I watched 2 of their games, Friday night and late Saturday afternoon, Both games they started slow and came back to take the lead and were in both games to the end(should have won both) but couldnt pull it off,I believe single digit loses, Kunstek played very well and their Guard play was very impressive for the lack of size, Donovan can see the floor as good as anyone Ive watched, he is able to distribute the ball and make plays out of nowhere. There were a lot of missed layups and turnovers down low in both games that seemed like they were just mental mistakes from the post players, This team has a lot of upside and neither Kameron nor Jason Covington played this weekend, I think had either been there they would have been a big help

Does anyone know much about what to expect from Lloyd Memorial High School in Erlanger for the 2014-15 basketball season? I know this past season didnt go so great but heard there was not one senior on that squad, any chance they will be more competitive this upcoming season?
