Don't sleep on Rockcastle County this season. They only had 2 seniors in the 2015 campaign and return a bevvy of talent. Region 3 will be strong and I see Rockcastle potentially taking the region crown and playing at Johnson Central in the state semifinals..that is if they can stay healthy.

JV games in the southern part of the state are 5 innings. In the 12th Region, the varsity game starts first and the JV plays either 5 innings or to whatever the time limit is set at...this is for Monday-Thursday games.

If it is a scholarship for a Division III school then it would not be for his/her athletic talents, but for their academic achievements since DIII does not give athletics scholarships.

It is yet again a wide-open tournament that anyone can win. I will be working the tournament and can't wait to see the final outcome.

Hopefully for Pulaski County they stay longer than what they normally do.

Looks like this will be the third school in three years for the Saterfields as this recap of the New Mexico Activities Association's Class 5A State Championship from last season mentioned Joe having played for Tularosa HS in New Mexico as a freshman and played for Centennial HS last year as a sophomore. Watching the Texas UIL state finals on tv last year was pretty neat with the games being in Cowboys Stadium, but this year they will be payed at NRG Stadium in Houston so the crowd won't look nearly as small even when they draw 40k+ for some of the games.

How much are single-game tickets? I would only be able to potentially attend the Sunday games.

It the great state of Wisconsin, they have two high school baseball seasons so a school could theoretically win two state titles in one academic year in baseball. They have Baseball Spring and Baseball Summer. The Spring season is the only one that is classed if I'm not mistaken and the Summer season takes the place of travel ball.

Upset did occur but not without some late game drama. Millard North led 21-0 at the end of the third quarter and Millard West stormed back with two fourth quarter touchdowns to cut it to 21-14. Then Millard West got the ball back with just 0:30 seconds to go on their own 19. The final drive went like this: 1st & 10 at own 19 - pass complete for 42 yards 1st & 10 at MN39 - pass incomplete 2nd & 10 at MN39 - pass incomplete (pass interference penalty) 1st & 10 at MN24 - pass incomplete 2nd & 10 at MN24 - pass incomplete 1st & 10 at MN24 - pass complete for 21 yards FUMBLE as time expires with Millard North recovering the ball @HSfootballfan18, it was definitely an instant classic with the way it finished. Such a heartbreaking way to lose a game especially in the state finals to your cross-town, bitter rivals.

@HSfootballfan18, if you're not watching the NSAA Class A State Final game you should tune in. There is an upset brewing as Millard North leads Millard West 14-0 at the half. Millard West's first and last play of the half were turnovers. And I was right...there's a pretty daggum good crowd there at Memorial Field.

I've been cleaning all day and got so much in the groove that I forgot to even turn it on to listen to while I cleaned. I'm looking forward to watching the other two games this afternoon/evening. The Class A title game is between two Omaha powers in Millard North (10-2) and Millard West (12-0). These schools are just 5.9 miles away from each other and are about 30-35 minutes away from Memorial Field at University of Nebraska...needless to pack it should be a very good crowd there for the game. Millard West defeated Millard North 42-7 back on Sept. 4 and only two of their games decided by 10 or fewer points.

I work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday so I'm getting all the football I can in now. lol. Some of the Iowa state finals got moved to today from Friday due to weather concerns but I've been flipping back and forth between that and the Nebraska finals.

This Class D1 8-man game has turned out to be a very entertaining football game. Has definitely helped pass my off day but delayed the house cleaning quite a bit lol guess i will get to it between this game and the Class D2 8-man game.

I wholeheartedly think that if we stay at te current 6-class system, Class 1A should be either 8-man or 9-man and schools that all into that division can elect to play up to 11-man. Schools like Phelps, Jenkins, Fulton City, Fulton County, and the other bottom feeders of the current Class 1A setup don't seem to have the number to compete at all in the 11-man game and would be able to potentially put a winning product on the field. It would also open up more schools that currently do not have teams to start one up and possibly evolve to the 11-man game.

On November 14 in the University Interscholastic League (Texas' main state association as the KHSAA is to Kentucky) there was a Class 1A Six-Man Division II first-round action, Blanket HS defeated Loraine HS 101-99 (yes that is the correct score). Then just four days ago, Blanket HS turns around and gets mercy-ruled by Balmorhea HS 52-6 in only one half (in Texas once the lead reaches 45 points in 6-man at or after halftime then the game is over). Balmorhea HS knelt the ball on the final drive of half for their only possession to not score on. That game's recap can be read here. If you have never watched a 9-man, 8-man, or 6-man football game in person, you need to. It is so much fun. The biggest difference in rules compared to the normal 11-man game, in most states 8-man football in played on a smaller field and that's about the only exception, but in 6-man besides the smaller field, the teams have to gain 15 yards for any first down and the ball can't be passed unless it has been handed off once so most of the time the QB is not the one that takes the snap.

Glad some folks are able to watch. I like how some states championship games aren't all the same weekend as our finals so when I find games that are on and I don't have to work, I will definitely tune in.

Class A in Nebraska is the largest division and the rest fall in line in descending alphabetical order. It has always been my way of thinking that the home team in any sport should be given a spread that would help differentiate that advantage of playing at home especially in the playoffs and in football that would be a touchdown advantage. Take the power rating that both teams have, add six to the home team and subtract the visiting team's power rating. If the number is a positive then the home team should win by that amount and then if the number is a negative then the visiting team should win. With that having been said, Male is a favorite in my opinion.
