He is a kid who has had the football injury bug, can't wait to see him injury free this year. He can easily be a 10 homer guy. His play from 3rd to behind pitchers mound to throw out a runner at 1st against Bryan Station was amazing.

Players not on everyone's watch list.... Dalton Harshbarger Conner, kid competes, calls a great game, and threw out a lot of top level JV'ers last year. Grant Wassom Scott can hit to all fields and can flash some power at times. Grant Moeves WV will surprise some teams from the bump. Tristin Marcum SK moves the ball like its full of jumping beans and sets up hitters well. I like watching Austin Johnson Boone rip the stick, that kid loves the game. You cant help but root for Fussinger Cooper lead JV in hitting AVG as a freshmen I believe and is possed to make a big impact this year. Conner Brown from Cov Cath may not have blistering speed but gets batters out shown by him leading his JV team in innings pitched last yr and a varsity win against St. X this yr. These kids are the reason we watch the game, not the ones who MIGHT be one of the 440 high schoolers taken in the MLB draft this year.:popcorn:

I love watching the Yankees score keeper, the most lenient keeper in the bigs. He drives me crazy. I think it is also important to go back and read what is considered an error, if its not routine, it's not an error. There is no 'it touched his glove rule'. It's not he could've caught it, it's that play is usual and customary. If an infielder is taking more than 5 steps on a grounder or an outfielder is leaving his feet, it's probably not an error per the rule book IMO of the rules.

A positive note, the coach has everyone's support across the district on eliminating a problem most have witnessed affecting the game we all love. He seems to be on the right track, but disciplining one player and not another for the same infraction is definitely sending mixed signals. Arlo won't let a few players refusing to follow simple team rules affect how his era of coaching is perceived. I'm sure he is ready to get back to the business of developing the character of young men who by nature, are willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the team.

There's an elephant in the room, it is hard to get momentum or team chemistry when players disrespect the game, their school and Northern Kentucky as a whole. A Coach's first and foremost responsilbility is to have the team represent the school and build quality young men. The damage is done in the eyes of Lasalle and the other parents on Conner's team.

The BW freshmen will be fine. Parents get excited when their young players have success. They are quality players and they have a quality coach. Don't judge them if you have only seen them play once. I saw them play the Florence Freedom 16u in the fallball championship. The freedom pitched a 15u pitcher against midland's 15u. Midland had also brought along Zach Shannon the #2 ranked 2014 player in the state of Ohio, the only 15 yr old to start for the 18u Midland Redskins. The Freedom ran away with the game. The Freedom had qualified 8th over all in the 16u national championships after pool play of the 100 teams entered. A quality team used to quality pitching. I didn't count out the BW players then and no one should now. With a little experience they will be successful on whatever level they play on. They have the talent, a little refinement and they will be a positive asset for BW's State run.

Hate to see a kid robbed of a homer. I'm sure Williams will have plenty more in the next 2 yrs at Conner, the kid can mash and has quality at bats. A lost art in a me 1st baseball culture.

Dixie pitched fine and threw strikes, very low walk rate. Dixie hit several long fly balls that were at a Ryle defenders. Dixie also had several runners in scoring position they didn't get in. A questionable call at 2nd base took them out of a big inning. Ryle put 3 across the plate in the 1st inning then it was some small ball and add on from there. Ryle batters hit well with 2 strikes and also with 2 outs. It was closer than the score indicates.

Ganns from Boone, Smiley from Conner, and Dunn are all being scouted and all can be shutdown pitchers. So far 3 other pitchers for Conner have left nothing but zeros for the opposing hitters. Smith and Collins have both shown well early. Engram from Boone pitched well for a win in Louisville. Ryle's pitching is the unknown in the group. Conner's hitters have proven production from last yr. Baumann from Ryle and Collins will be exspected to carry the offensive loads and it depends if others can step up on their teams. Can Dunn and Fussinger offensively produce? Plyvan and T. Mason? For me, Conner is the front runner by a good step so far.

I agree with Fogle, probably the class of the 33rd district with 6 homers last year. I have my eye on Williams, Maines and Hart from Cooper also. With a short porch at Cov Cath in right field it opens the door for lefties like Schrevier. Baumann from Ryle had 4 homers last yr and you can't count out Plyvan and T. Mason. Forbes also has a chance to match his travel ball numbers. Suchanek BW, Wassom SK, and Klein from Boone will drive the ball. Who are some other dark horses?

They definitely can stack them at Midland. I have experience with the Midland Braves which would be 17's now. Karl Ellison (Vandy), Jacob Niggemeyer (Ohio State) Zach Shannon (Ohio State) and Trevor Simon (Marshall) to name the ones off my head. Nate Verst BB, Eric Clarkson Ryle, Michael Nelson Ryle, Mason Forbes Ryle, Derek Varner Turpin, Brenden Wells Scott also played at different times for the Braves.

Who are the power hitters from each school and who will be leading each region in homers?

Jason Sukanek has a quality arm. He can run it up there quick with good location and a nasty hook, slurve whatever it was, it broke hard. The frosh for Beechwood looked very good with some solid play at 3rd. The Ryle hitters look like they can be intimidating. Both teams got in some good work and a chance to evaluate their strengths and weakness. The ump did hustle out to make a call at 3rd, all wasn't lost, lol
