Beechwood 8 Scott 4

Featured Replies

Didn't catch much of it but know that Combs from Beechwood had 2 home runs this game. The best freshman I have ever seen.

Stringer pitched 3 innings and allowed no hits and had 7K's.

Combs2-3 2 HR now has 3 already. As I said, the best power hitter in Northern Ky, bar none, and I don't care that he is a freshman.

Stringer 2-3 double and the pitching line. Scott got no good swings off him, he was blowing his fastball past them and mixing it up with his breaking stuff.

Slusher 1-3 Awesome catch in outfield from what I understand

Suchanek flied out to wall twice

Schmidt 1-2

Rendering huge two run single in 7th to give the four run cushion.

BW played with an all underclassmen team, including three frosh, 2 sophs and 4 juniors.

I look forward to checking him out. If he's better than Tim Grogan, Luke Maile, or Zack Isler then he's damn good.

You could throw a blanket over those two, and Slusher is not far behind. Brayden is 6'4 225 and a silent assassin, very unassuming. Throw him a fastball he is going to kill it. Ethan is much more flamboyant, 6'1 180, eye black and extremely high energy. While Combs is a pure power hitter, Stringer sprays it but has plenty of pop. Runs like a deer. Still learning to play CF, is a RF for his summer team. Measured at 88 from outfield at one of those showcase things. Combs still learning to play 3B, is strictly a 1B up to this point. Slusher can play anywhere. Future is bright in the Ft.

I am not sure who is the individual best however I think Combs and Stringer are the best freshman combination in many years.

I remember Combs now. He played TE, correct?

Again, if the combo is better than two guys who got drafted in the 8th round last year then they are LEGIT.

Yep, he was #42 for the Frosh champs, virtually unblockable @ DE and best blocker I saw all year. Started for Varsity Tigers in playoffs. Ethan was the tailback, #32. Slusher was #82, WR/LB. Both of them got significant minutes during playoff run. Still think the QB Fieger will be in the varsity pitching rotation by mid April.

I have heard both Combs and Stringer can throw in the 80's. Sound like studs with plenty of time to get stronger and faster. A couple of likely future draft picks.

Fun Fact: both Stringer and Combs are in Scott area. So both should be attending Scott, Coach Trame of Scott coached Ethan Stringer in the SWOL years ago with his son.

How did Kramer hit for Scott?

Not to well. But he is a shield behind the plate. He has a cannon too, forget who, but someone tried to steal on him and had a good jump. The ball beat the runner by 3 steps.

How did Kramer hit for Scott?

Great player, had a a couple hits, believe he was the one that Slusher robbed as well. Really good hands and feet behind the plate as well. Best catcher I have seen so far, either side of river.

Really? I thought Stringer was a Simon Kenton kid? During football season, couple of those guys had their panties in a wad over the transfer. That said, i do know the Combs now live in Ft. Mitchell, no longer tuition kids.
