Beechwood 8 Scott 4

Featured Replies

Fun Fact: both Stringer and Combs are in Scott area. So both should be attending Scott, Coach Trame of Scott coached Ethan Stringer in the SWOL years ago with his son.

Fact incorrect. Combs now lives in Ft. Mitchell. He was a tuition student, but Family moved here a while ago. Also, Combs has been at Beechwood Since the 6th grade.

Also, I'm not sure how Scott and Simon Kenton can both lame claim to the same kids. But Stringer has caused much bitching by SK folks in the football forumns.

Partially correct. Yes, Ethan did play for Jeff Trame from about age 7 to age 11. And we knew he was special then. However, he does not live in Scott's district. He lives in SK territory. Don't know about Combs.

He lives right on the border line. Actually right next door to a Scott student who plays for the freshman team.

See Markel Mclendon thread, kids go where they want and play for better teams.

Who cares where they live.. All I know is Combs, Stringer, Slusher and Fieger are all really really good for their age...

Good young players. Another great young player is the Soph Pangallo boy heard from some parents Newcath beat Beechwood yesterday best player on the field was him. Heard he is leading the Newcath team in hitting batting over .600 pretty impressive with the teams they played already. A lot of good talent for some young players in NKY area.

Stringer & Combs are the best freshmen players around this area. I know both kids like football but the way they hit and run i hope they don't ruin there bodies by playing football, love the game of football but with that kind of talent the education and money is all the same. They stoled the show tonight.

oh by the way i saw EKU coach there does anybody know who he was watching?

For Kyle Kramer of Scott. Had a talk with him last night after the game I believe.

It seems the kreamer kid has improved but i don't think he will see the field anytime soon at EKU jmo

Good. Hopefully the ss from bw too. The two hrs from combs were hit well, but to the short porch. SS hit two bombs to deep part of field, just got caught. I watched him pitch saturday, he is an all around solid player.

Kid is big, great arm, and has great feet behind the plate. Add in he is a left handed batter, he is a recruiting dream for EKU.

I think EKU knows what they are looking at. He must be pretty important because they have been looking at him since summer ball last year. At the time he played for CBC but that team broke up in the middle of the year.

Combs2-3 2 HR now has 3 already. As I said, the best power hitter in Northern Ky, bar none, and I don't care that he is a freshman.

Overstatement. He is a terrific hitter, without question. The "bar none" caveat is just wrong. Ryle's Plvan has two HR's and 4 doubles or so already on the season. He has a huge bat. Is Combs a better power hitter? Maybe. But it's hardly a runaway.

EKU coach sure got more than he bargained for when he decided on this game to watch Kramer. :lol2:

Best of luck to Kramer on having a great season and opportunity at the next level.
