Got a text from a buddy who was at the game.. Saying ryle raked.. Mason Forbes, Tyler Mason, and Dylan Plvan all hit well and a few other guys he didn't know. I heard Justin hoard and Tyler mason both threw really well and both threw strikes. I wasn't there so I don't know, but this sounds like a really solid win for ryle and from paper looked very impressive.

This team is probably the youngest in the region (only 3 seniors). Hopefully, things can get turned around.

 

Not to take anything away from Ryle, they are definitly a team that will contend for the region but a few boneheaded plays by inexperienced players helped pile on the runs.

 

The most concerning thing for Dixie is the lack of offense, I figured that pitching & defense would take some time, since they have almost zero returning Varsity experience.

Dixie pitched fine and threw strikes, very low walk rate. Dixie hit several long fly balls that were at a Ryle defenders. Dixie also had several runners in scoring position they didn't get in. A questionable call at 2nd base took them out of a big inning. Ryle put 3 across the plate in the 1st inning then it was some small ball and add on from there. Ryle batters hit well with 2 strikes and also with 2 outs. It was closer than the score indicates.
