Does XU have the ability to break open the checkbook to keep him? Or do they just say thanks for your time and don't even counter offer?
-
For UK the platooning definitely hurt, but when you look nationwide it was just a weird year overall. Big time kids going to non elite programs. A lot of power schools lost out, it just wasn't UK. UNC signed just 2 guys and they aren't even elite guys. Kansas only got 2. Odd cycle

When you look at the college BBall scene, most kids are held back to get an advantage on the recruiting field. Once they obtain their "star" status they usually will reclassify because they can kick start their career NBA earnings a year earlier. In most cases kids reclassify into their natural age bracket.

When a sport cares more about promoting then the actual sport, it is no longer a sport. The only way to reel in fans is to make a unified organization like UFC, and create a tiered system where certain fighters have to have each other. -
It's funny they fired him after winning 2 in a row.

I had to take a day and kind of digest this. When you look at the roster, there really is no glaring weakness at any position. This draft definitely was trying to steal a few players at the top to build for the future. I kind of liked it

He's always hit the ball hard throughout his career, that's all I need to see. It was only a matter of time till the numbers showed it and last year was the year.

Boxing used to have a handful of guys that would draw really well on TV. Now it's primarily just 2 -

Tyson was aweosme because he either knocked people out or got knocked out trying. Nobody is like that anymore. Floyd claims he is an entertainer, but nothing about his style is entertaining -

In general I'm not a big fighting guy. I enjoy MMA whenever it's on and j occasionally go to the local watering hole to watch a fight. If I ever see boxing on like ESPN, immediately switch the channel. You'll probably have to ask an MMA guy. But to the casual eye you have to be the aggressor in MMA or your but will get kicked. There's really no room in the MMA to play defense the whole time. -

Good MMA fights have blood, knockouts, and are a flurry of activity. Good boxing fights have guys who run away the whole time and only punch when necessary. Which one would you rather watch? -

Floyd fights like a coward. Good enough to get his wins, but that is why he won't ever be in the conversation for the greatest ever. -

Watched boxing for the first time in ages. This fight proves while boxing is dead. Floyd retreated the whole time, although it was effective from the boxing standpoint. But from a casual observer standpoint it wasn't fun to watch at all -

If anyone throws something soft and outside, Frazier can't touch it. His plate coverage is totally middle to in. Huge hole for pitcher to exploit. Now he hammers pitchers if they misthrow it inside, but outside its a different story. -
If Cueto doesn't get hurt in 2012 they win the whole thing. No way would have SF gotten past game 4 with Cueto on the mound instead of Leake... Trading Cueto could be more important than resigning him. They could really get a few nice pieces for the future, and start another run.

I think this is a class of guys who want to be the number 1 player on each team. Nothing wrong with that, but they won't win college games past March.
-
Aa usual GT, you always have the good scoop. Why do you think Cal came in so late then? It didn't seem like it wasn't on his radar until March. and even then I felt they had no momentum for him.
-
Ohhhhhhhh, that's an interesting development. Basketball recruiting is some shady stuff.
-
The big time programs this year really didn't load up in the top 10 or 15. Crazy year for recruiting

So I guess pray Murray reclassifies?
-
I'm in utter disbelief. I swore it would be either UM or UK, totally out of left field
-
My mind is blown lol
-
Rumor going around he may announce tonight and UK is the favorite
-
I'm hoping Cal pulled this one out of his rear end. So I'll say UK
-
Thanks, so it's proven you don't need a whole team of big men down low. This year was an anomaly
