This is a great story! I'm glad to see that these students were apart of this moment. I'm sure that young man (and all involved) will never forget that basket! Congrats to Michael, I hope this isn't the end of his playing career.

Is he the only player from Newport to sign? What about the QB, I think his name was Price? Or what about those two RB's (Joseph and Bolten) I think were their names.

I think Bryson Warner would be a great hire. Isn't Kyle Neiderman an Assistant Principal at Newport Middle School or in some admiistrative role in that district? Does anyone know if Eric Turner applied? What about Marty Steele? What about Dave Eckstein coming out of retirement?

Any word on the process so far? Who has applied? Have they began interviewing yet?

Is there anything official yet on this position? Who would be some candidates for the job? Would they look for a "Bellevue" guy? Personally, I only know 4 alums currently coaching....Wayne Hall, Chad Montgomery, Nick Wilson, and Keith Walton...would any of these guys be a good fit? I apologize if I missed any BHS alums that are coaching

What about the guy at Newport? He and his staff have done a tremendous job turning around that program. Seems like a young, energetic kind of guy. Maybe just what the Park Hills mafia needs

Who are other assistants that would make good head coaches? What about schools that have a a good turn around like Newport? Or schools with continued success like SK, Dixie, Highlands? Or school that have struggled like Dayton, Brossart, Holmes? Any quality assistant coaches at these programs?

What about Ryan (I think that's his first name Goss from Campbell Co?

I definitely think the Sowards kid and Johnson from Holmes will be the top OL in NKy. I also agree with the Barker kid for QB, but what about the Moore kid from Dixie? I had heard that he really came around last year towards the end of the season. Any chance that continues and he becomes top QB in area. Fussinger from Cooper is a great player too, I enjoyed watching him play several games last season. If any small school kid should get on this list it should be Huff from Bellevue. He played like a stud in the Dayton game last year. I have always heard he was prone to the injury bug (anyone know anything about this?). If that is true, I hope he can avoid that this season and help the Tigers out.

I heard the same thing. I can't believe Dayton would take her on, they are just full of bad decisions over the last few years!!

How many (if any) of the BCHS assistants are going to follow him to Lloyd? I could see Coach Neiderman, Coach Steele, and a few others leaving Boone over a few bitter feelings. I have heard Coach Turner is a high motor kind of guy and knows a lot of football. I wish him the best and Good luck to the Juggs this coming season.

I hope Skinner is right and the announcement comes today or tomorrow. Regardless , the AD and Principal have totally neglected this position and obviously have no idea what they are doing, or this position would have been filled months ago.

Last I had heard today was supposed to be announcement day....Anything? Or still just a bunch of Crickets??

Has anyone heard anything about who is on the "short-list" of candidates to replace Coach Dilts?

Even though, I do not know Coach Neiderman personally, I have seen Boone play. He seems like a high motor kind of guy and very intense/passionate about the job his defense does every Friday. In the game I saw this year, his players seemed well prepared and extremely well coached. I don't care if he had connections to Coach Thompson, Coach Neiderman got the shaft in this deal and I personally would not blame him if he left BC altogether!

Ok, so Boone has named a HFC leaving Newport as the only job in NKY yet to be filled (that has been posted longer than the weekend...Lloyd). This program may never recover!!

Wow! That is awful for the kids of Newport. Hopeful round 2 of the search doesn't take as long as Round 1 did. :banghead: Does anyone know who is on Newport's schedule this year?

I heard from a heavily involved athletic booster at Newport at the District Final that the coach would be named by March 1st. I later talked to the same person at the Region game against Cov Cath and he said the administration would have someone by the 15th. Not sure of the reason for delay, but this is a major disadvantage for the kids at Newport.

Looks like this will be a successful season for Bowling Green!!

I have to wonder who the candidates are for this job and how many of those still want the job. They are three months behind everyone else at this point.

Unless there has been a hire that I am unaware of at this point. It is now March 1st and the administration at Newport has yet to hire a Head Coach. Does anyone have any insight as to what they are waiting on? Who the candidates are?
