  1. Who's the Bellevue coach? Did Kevin Listerman briefly coach at Bellevue as one of his first head coaching jobs?
  2. There are 5 teams in the District. Bellevue lost to Dayton in District play. So NCC is 3-0 with Bellevue left to play. Newport is 3-1 beating Highlands, Dayton, Bellevue and lost to NCC. Bellevue is 1-2 with win over Highlands and loss to Newport and Dayton. Highlands is 1-3 with win over Dayton and losses to NCC, Newport, Bellevue. Dayton is 1-3 with win over Bellevue, losses to NCC, Highlands, Newport Sooooooooo? I'm guessing he is just providing the district seeding records.... 40 points wont win you too many games either...
  3. Got to give some props to Brossart PG guard Logan Schultz too...reminds me of their other point guards from the 2000's...Jon Lloyd (2001) and Matt Lloyd (2007)
  4. Shannon had 9 pts and 13 rebounds...hardly a non-factor... Schultz had 20 pts...those two accounted for 29 of the 38 pts. The Stangs do have to play a complete game with fewer turnovers and must rebound and shoot well...and play to their strengths. This will be a good, competitive game as each time clearly has some strengths over each other. Will depend on who plays the better game (obviously...duh)...
  5. They arm-wrestled for the game ball after the game...but both of them left with a game ball...so it was pretty cool.
  6. Congratulations to Holy Cross' Deja McClendon and Brossart's Emily Schultz who both scored their 1,000th career points within about thirty seconds of each other. McClendon finished with 19 and Tucker had 16 for Holy Cross. Schultz finished with 16 and Abby King had 12, and Sydney Shannon had 7.
  7. Lady Camels used a 16-3 2nd quarter to open a 15-point lead...it was a 6-pt game with about 5 mins left in the game and Lady Camels used another late game run for the final margin. Schultz with about 23 pts for Brossart ,and Lady Camels were pretty balanced.
  8. Lady Stangs led after 1st quarter 7-4, but were doomed by a scoreless 2nd quarter....outscored 17-0 in the stanza. Came out in third quarter with a lot more intensity and cut the lead to three at one point, but Beechwood had a nice, calm game plan and hit their free throws. Emily Schultz leads the Lady Stangs with 14. Ally Johnson led the Lady Tigers with 14 (I believe)...
  9. Beechwood has some players...the Johnson girl (i think that's her name)... very nice player.
  10. Seniors Emily Schultz (24), Abby King (12), and Sydney Shannon (11) lead the Lady Stangs in scoring tonight. Schultz dominates with 22 first half points...Haleigh Yazell leads Bourbon County with 14.
  11. It'd be tough to pick a favorite in the 10th so early...good discussions but no clear team running away with it at this stage...maybe Mason at best if you are going to predict anything. Brossart, Campbell, Scott....one of them will be unfortunate enough to not make it to the Regional. Whoever gets the #1 seed out of the District seeding games is essentially the only guarantee to make the Region. As PSJ stated, a couple huge 3's kept the Camels alive for their Region run but could easily have been eliminated. Everyone is a year older, stronger and hopefully more experienced...the Camels are talented though throughout their lineup and bench...
  12. jump in there and say "CCHS was lucky to get past BBHS in the District last year thanks to some unexpected/luckyass 3's that were thrown in"....what did we do against them last year in the Crosstown?

  13. I'll ask since I will admittedly acknowledge that I was unaware of this....but it's a violation to videotape an opposing team? As a parent? I know this is different than a coaching staff going and scouting...but are coaching staffs not allowed to video as well when they scout?
  14. Not surprised either....was thrilled with 1-0 halftime score with the shots NDA had. Second half barrage continued and NDA's talent and depth really showed. Lady Stangs kept playing and had a great showing. Nothing to hang your heads about...great season...region champs...proud of all you young ladies and Seniors...Amanda graus, Olivia nienaber, ashley Childress, Lauren cookendorfer, Kayla cooper, Hailee hundermer, Amanda Lloyd, riley orth. All part of a great run in your soccer careers....three region titles in four years! Best of luck to NDA in your run at State!!
  15. Updates few and far between. NDA with a couple goals in second half....one off a corner and then another unassisted goal by #4 Schu(?)...nice skilled players and foot skills...twenty mins left.
  16. NDA up 1-0 at half. #4 with a nice goal just inside the left post three mins into the game. NDA with lots of offensive pressure with about 7-8 quality shots on goal. Lady Stangs get couple good looks...one wide left and another direct kick off a handball just outside the box. Very clean game to watch...three fouls called...and I am wet.
  17. Don't know and haven't heard anything about location yet. Two years ago, when we hosted the first round, it was played at NKU.
  18. Congratulations to Stephanie Szovati and Kelsey Riley from Campbell County; and Alyson Schultz, Amanda Graus and Olivia Nienaber from Brossart for the All Tournament Team.
  19. Lady Stangs take 10th Region title 1-0 over the Lady Camels. Ally Schultz with a break away goal with 25 minutes left in the game ....and the Stangs play defense to hold the lead.
  20. I know what I would like to see is for all parents to sit and watch their daughters (some might be playing in their last high school soccer game ever), and enjoy the moment....and not get wrapped up in this stupid drama playing out here. We all live in the same community here, and see the players from the other team walking the neighborhoods all the time. What I love is that when I see girls out in public and congratulate them and wish them luck, they are the nicest, sweetest, most respectful youth. I know there is another switch that goes off when they compete in sports. Keep the comments at the players and officials clean (I can guarantee there will be calls against each team that not everyone will agree with), but let's all try to enjoy the game today.
  21. Lady Stangs get revenge from an earlier mid-season loss (3-0 at Bourbon County) to defeat Bourbon County in the 10th Region semifinals...3-2. Lady Stangs scored first about ten minutes in with a goal by Alyson Schultz. Bourbon tied it up with a minute left in the half with a rebound off a direct kick. In the second half, Bourbon scored early to take a 2-1 lead. Lady Stangs then tie it up half way through with a goal by Riley Orth. Then with about ten minutes remaining, Kate Goller nets the game-winner off a beautiful cross by Olivia Nienaber.
