  1. BBHS Coach had just called a timeout under a pressure half-court situtation and was instructing the girls in the huddle when KCC substituted in their bench. I'm sure the Coach didn't realize the third string was in there (with not being familiar with the KCC players). It wasn't like playing Holy Cross and then the Twin Towers and guards are not on the court when you come out. Dont read too much into it....
  2. Lot of youth in the Stangs lineup...sophomores at C, CF, 2B, 1B...need to get better offensively and more softball "smarts".
  3. Lady Stangs played one of their better and most inspired games of the season....leading Clark County 2-1 going into the 6th and squandering a golden scoring opportunity in the bottom of the 5th that could have provided a boost heading into the 6th against the top of Clark's lineup. Clark County was able to get the runners on and get them in during that pivotal inning. Great game on both sides. Congratulations to the Lady Stangs seniors...Shannon Kremer, Jaimie Reis and Allie Anstead. Good luck to Clark County through the rest of the regional.
  4. Brossart hit free throws down the stretch with 4th quarter comeback for 32-28 (I think) win.
  5. I did not hear "thunder" or maybe mistaken it by the trucks on I-75, but I first noticed lightning in the 7th inning when the rally was going on, but I do believe it was to the backs of the umps...but the second time I saw lightning in the 7th I thought maybe it should have been seen. The JV game is when more lightning was seen and the delays were called at that point...probably around the 7:00 timeframe.
  6. I'll just put my two cents out there on this one and then be done....I don't know or didn't hear anything about comments being said on the field between the players or any specifics, so I have nothing to say about that. What I will say about the cheering from the Stang players and bench is from what I've observed watching them the past couple weeks as they struggled...is a lack of enthusiasim and desire to be on the softball field it seems. I don't believe it was directed towards the best player on the field (HC Moran--which I was glad to see play and is one heck of a player! Very entertaining to watch someone who approaches the game that way...just a "true gamer".) as we finally got her out one time, but after the performance against HHS on Tuesday being another lack luster performance, that the "cheering" was constant throughout the game on Wednesday as well as yesterday against NCC. It's not about a team or directed towards a player (though when you play someone once a year it might seem that way at that moment), but an effort by the Lady Stang players to show more emotion and try to save this season as they get ready for tournament time. It just has been a disappointing and frustrating season to this point coming off of last season with practically the same team and the expectations were high.
  7. These hugging chats are boring...I thought it was more entertaining when Baller and JMU were throwing jabs yesterday...I'm going to go back to reading that thread...seriously though, Neace pitched a very solid game with the shutout. Too many 1-2-3-4 innings for the Stangs and couldn't string hits together. Thought both sides were going to put up more offense...
  8. ZAP, I was just giving scores for people at home, these weren't pansy teams down here...they hit, they pitched, they were pretty damn good teams down here heading towards the end of their season. I'll mention again this was our second week on a field when the temperature wasn't 30 degrees. If you are in midseason form, then congrats to ya.
  9. Mustangs fall to Trinity Catholic 14-2 or so...
  10. Correction on scores...first game was 12-0 and yesterday's game was 12-7. Didn't play Tuesday...team canceled on us. Play today and that will be last game. Teams down here have "arms" at third and short that I have never seen in northern Kentucky.
  11. Quick update...lost Wednesday to University Christian that is just a little bigger school than Brossart that is or looked like a softball power...hit the ball hard...lost 15 or so...-0...had couple innings with loaded bases but couldn't get any across. Second game Thursday against Bishop Kenny was winnable lost 12-8. One bad defensive inning. Teams down here are in end.of season and we are just starting with 3 times on a field. Good teams down here.
  12. True...but you were Draud's pick-boy since 1st grade? What zip code did Fraud have his high school career?
  13. Thought it might have been the St Mary playing time rule in your favor too...my mistake.
  14. Can't remember my Breds scores but we came out on top more often then not...but we topped your Birds four times in my senior year.
  15. Was one of them when you were fouling them with a running clock in our own tournament?
  16. That's seafood buffets....did you find a way to beat the St Mary teams in grade school?
  17. G1 the know-it-all...you were probably on the Birds team that lost to them 11 times that year...
  18. Things will be wet for a while...
  19. Phil Glaze...he was a leaper...put on a real show in warmups.
  20. Couple years back in 9th region...think Ross Neltner from highlands was Mr bball for the state and Justin Doellman from Ryle was regional POY. Politics at its best...Doellman was the better player.
  21. I agree with your comment on McGovney when healthy...
  22. McGovney had a very nice career, but I'd put Saunders on the top 5 before McGovney...imo.
  23. Are the boys and girls 9th Region tourney games being broadcasted by anyone? Thanks.
