We've had a fake punt, INT, fumble on the goal line, and 4th down stop inside the red zone by the Titan defense.

Collins just fumbled on the 1 for their second turnover of the game. Crazy game so far.

If Collins can't figure out how to slow down the run, they won't win this one or have any chance to advance in the playoffs. Their offense is good enough to where they don't have to completely shut their opponent down, but their defense has to provide at least some resistance. All signs point to tonight being a shootout, so I'm sure we'll se a low scoring game instead.

Collins has the playmakers to compete with a lot of teams on offense this year, but their defense is obviously really bad. They lost a few really talented defensive lineman from last year and are still figuring out how to try to replace them. Hopefully they can figure out how to at least slow the run sometime soon. It is encouraging, though, to see them be able to move the ball and protect the quarterback after the past two seasons. The Titans have a big game this week, hosting Spencer County. Expect a lot of points in that one.

Wow. If the Titans had at least a decent defense they would be in a lot better shape.

Collins' championship team ran a spread offense, but usually at least one drive a game they would line up in a Power I Formation and run it straight at the defense. In fact, they did it in the finals vs. Highlands near the end of the first half and they were able to chew up a lot of clock and kick a field goal to take the lead just before the half. They had quite a bit of success ocassionally running two totally different styles and tempos, but it's easier to do that when you have the talent they did.

Collins is certainly better than they were the past two years. They have played well in their first 3 games, especially in the passing game. However, Boyle County is a much better team than anyone they have played so far. I think it will be very tough for the Titans to win this one on the road, but I would like to see them keep it close and have a good game heading into district play. Improvements in the run game and on defense are a must for the Titans.
