4A #9 Spencer County at Collins

It's the start of the District 4 thresher as Spencer County visits Collins. A season ago District 4 was top to bottom the best in 4A, and one of the most entertaining. A big part of that was Spencer County, and they opened district play that season with a 35-14 win over Collins. They're 4-1 entering this game, with the only loss a "not as bad as it seemed at the time" 29-13 decision dropped against Bardstown. Collins just dropped their first game, but to 3A top 5 Boyle County, no shame. This one should be a dandy. Will the ground game (Spencer) or aerial attack (Collins) prevail?

Collins must stop the ground game of Spencer. Spencer's ground game does not look as impressive as it did last year. Collins must get there own ground game going to ease some pressure on the passing. I can see this one being high scoring and possessions will be the key...Who doesn't turn it over and who recovers the most onside kicks. (Spencer has a bag of tricks they pulled on BE)

If Collins can't figure out how to slow down the run, they won't win this one or have any chance to advance in the playoffs. Their offense is good enough to where they don't have to completely shut their opponent down, but their defense has to provide at least some resistance. All signs point to tonight being a shootout, so I'm sure we'll se a low scoring game instead.
