I was hoping you would chime in Mustang because I was surprised myself. More like disappointed. I was told the passes weren't honored that night twice last year. The second time I questioned the worker at the door (and I don't like to do that because I realize they are volunteers). She told me "Mel told her". The second time I said I was going to find Mel. I know you wouldn't run that type of program.

So when they go to opponents gyms same rules apply, right? I tried to use my NKAC pass and it was not honored at all. It's a conference game. Conference rules. I disagree.

Except when you attend a basketball game at BBHS. As a member of the khsaa with a pass, every time I've tried to use it out there I've been told "we aren't honoring those passes tonight". And it wasn't for tournament games or fundraisers. A typical weekday night. As active members in good standing with the NKAC, why are they allowed to make their own rules, but when their members attend games at other schools, their passes are honored, with a guest?

I saw it the other day in a local HS game and it wasn't called. The rule was just recently changed. Saved a point for her team as well.

Who returns for both teams?

Who are Dixoe Heights best players this year? Anyone have information in them?

Maybe Beechwood is better than teams have given them credit.

I beg to differ. When you talk about NewCaths bench your best players are Weyer, Franzen, Verkamp, Seth Freppon, and Brandon Gray. They all have their roles and play them quite well.

Let me add, what I like about Liam is that he plays within himself. He's very unselfish and looks to get the ball to his teammates when they have the hot hand. It's not an easy task to play this position and not be the main man, but Liam plays the position well, which makes him very valuable.

He's a nice player. Plays bigger than his physique.

Who ate the two guys who were missing? I haven't heard much about Shining Stars and I've been reading up on the AAU teams.

I can agree they play different roles. Point made. However, my point is that because Ruthsatz scores more doesn't necessarily make him better than Pangallo. Not saying he isn't a great player...I think Pangallo is just as good at his role.

I love the way Pangallo handles the ball, sees the floor, is unselfish, distributes, plays defense, and hustles on both ends of the floor. A PG doesn't have to put up 15-20 points a game to be good. And he doesn't shoot the ball 20 times a game either, so he's not going to score like other point guards mentioned. Pangallo does it all, and has few turnovers.

Only the head coach must have the 64 college credit hours. Paid assistants do not need to have college credit hours. If someone in the building applies for the job but is not qualified, he/she can be passed to hire a more qualified candidate outside of the building.

Then send your kids to Brossart and not Highlands.

Thanks for the update. I knew Kohls played basketball as a freshman but not as a sophomore. She's such an athlete, she can try any sport year to year and do well at that sport. I also thought Neace played 3 as a freshman and wasn't sure if Burkardt still played 2 or was just concentrating on softball (by her choice obviously). Regardless, the decisions are those of the student-athletes and their parents, not the coaches. The administration at NewCath would never tolerate any coaching staff in any sport talking kids out of playing multiple sports.

The more I got to thinking about your post, the more disturbed I became. Coach Barnes works with the kids more than any other coach at NewCath in terms of playing other sports. Not only does he encourage them to play other school sports, he works with them on their club/AAU teams. He just won't tolerate players missing for their select teams, as most coaches wouldn't. Check his starting lineup and how many other sports each girl plays and tell me he "did not want them doing other sports" Neace - 2 sports Schreiber - 2 sports Burkart - 1 sport Kohls - 2 sports Ware - 3 sports Zimmerman - 3 sports Enzweiler - 1 sport ? Martini - 3 sports Kehoe - 2 sports Really? Be careful before you start bashing someone who really does have the kids' best interest and the program's best interest at heart. And NO, I don't have a daughter who plays for Coach Barnes.

I hope you have your facts straight. NewCath's coach is a friend of mine. He ENCOURAGES kids to play other sports. What he won't tolerate is kids missing NewCath softball games for club/AAU games and practices. He puts the school team first and expects the kids and parents to do the same. He is absolutely one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Anyone who talks poorly of Coach Barnes, has never met him. He ALWAYS puts the kids first.

Based on this thread and everyone being so judegemental, maybe the easier thing to do all along was to stay at WV. Now they are going to do what isn't so easy...what is in the best interest of their family. Just a thought.

My question is this..for all those who can judge each and every school, I'm assuming you've been inside of each and every one of those schools on a daily basis, spent time in the classrooms, visited with the students and administration etc? Because until you have done that, how can you, or anyone, judge any school system? ACT is just a means to college, it's NOT an education. I'm amazed at all those professionals who KNOW which school is the best, yet probably haven't set foot in any. Fact is, it's a free will to attend any school of the kids' and parents' choice why don't we leave it at that, whether it be WV, CC, NCC or some other school of their choice?

Correction, Colin DuPont may have attended HMS, however he is a member of St. Catherine Parish, which is a district parish to NCC.
