Highlights from another game played 2 weeks ago.

Good stuff.

Nice work on the logo. Can't wait to get the site up and running.

I'm working on Bo's now.

Kid looks really good. I didn't see a lot of Dixie games last year. Looks like he has added some muscle from what I recall.

The ability to go to his off hand in the lane and score with it is a differentiator.

He'll be one of the better juniors in the 9th next season.

Been saying this all summer and had someone in a different thread tell me I was crazy when I said he'd be one of the better pg's and jrs in nky.

The work he's put.in with McFarland and former X player Brad Redford both on the court and in the weight room has really helped.

Let me add, what I like about Liam is that he plays within himself. He's very unselfish and looks to get the ball to his teammates when they have the hot hand. It's not an easy task to play this position and not be the main man, but Liam plays the position well, which makes him very valuable.

I assume you're referring to me...

That said, I still don't think he's a top player in NKy. He isn't even the best player on his team. He may not be the second best player on his team. Dixie has some really good juniors, and Daria is solid. Although it appears he'll be a very important part of Dixie's team this year. And again, it depends on what your definition of top player is? Top 5? Top 10? Top 25?

All of this said, don't misunderstand me. I believe Liam is a nice player. I had a chance to see him several times this summer and he does seem to have improved and gotten stronger. Needs to develop a more consistent jumper, as many do at this age, but can get to the rim and finish.

Time will tell how good he can be. Im looking forward to seeing he and Dixie play.

Let me add to the previous by saying.... Picking Dixie's best/most productive player is like picking NCCs best/most productive player. You would go with Hatton and McDonald, but then where... Is it Niehaus/Schreck/Rabe/hedger/Daria.... Is it Pangallo/Schulte/Moeves/Weyer.

I'll also add, I know each of these players has their own, good skill set... And, I know that Schulte has offers/interest, as do some others... But, I'm talking productivity on the HS team. Hard to say whose the next best/productive on these teams. A good situation to be in.

I've heard that both Daria and Staneck may forego basketball this season to work on improving even more in their main sports. Both would be really tough losses and I'm hoping they do indeed choose to play basketball this season. They both bring a lot to the team and would really be missed.

I have heard the same about Stanek. Have not heard that about Daria. Have heard Stanek is a heck of a runner, and that Daria is a nice baseball player. Keep us updated, please. Thanks!

Liam's best attribute is his work ethic. He has improved every single season because of his great work ethic, and this summer has been no different. He identified the things he needed to work on at the end of last season and has been relentless with working to get better. He has been super dedicated to the weight room and has put on substantial muscle. He is also training with Brad Redford on his outside shot. I've seen great improvement in both his mechanics and his confidence. Who knows how good he will be, that will be determined on the floor, but I do know that he is working extremely hard. And don't take my word for it... ask any of the Dixie coaches about how much time he is spending in the weight room, or ask Brad how hard he is working on improving his shot.

Here is a sample of his workouts:

This is great! Love to see kids in the gym, especially getting 1 on 1 time. If he can get that jumper to fall with consistency, he could have a nice year. I really think Dixie should be pretty good this year as I know a couple other guys have been getting a lot of time in the gym as well.

Ready for basketball season to start!
