  1. No! You're a NewCath guy! You cannot choose this!! Seriously, I have no idea who will win. I'm excited to bring my son to watch a good game. I am very interested to see Ruthsatz' initial game plan and then any adjustments he may make. I heard LB was buying after the game??
  2. When the legs go, the shot goes. You show me a tired team, and I'll show you a team unable to hit shots they normally do.
  3. The Red Colonels of Dixie Heights travel to Hebron to take on the Conner Cougars for a 2:00 varsity tip. The Red Colonels are riding a 9 game winning streak and have won 12 out of their last 13. This game marks the beginning of a brutal second half stretch in which Dixie will only play three more home games, out of the remaining 14+ games scheduled. The Cougars are coming off a thumping at the hands Campbell County and are 3-3 over their last 6 games. Will Conner be able to handle Dixie's size (bigger than Campbell County) and smothering half-court defense? Will Dixie be able to handle Conner's full court press and fast paced style? Who wins and why? (This game is a triple header. Freshmen game tips at 11:00, JV at 12:30 and Varsity at 2:00)
  4. Then you haven't seen them bow out the last 2 years at the Regionals. I think the combination of the bigger floor and the lack of depth has done them in each time.
  5. Dixie Heights 65, Ludlow 37 Ludlow (8-9) - Reusch 2 0 4, Highhouse 1 0 2, Roark 1 1 4, Blackburn 0 1 1, Mitchell 3 3 9, Camarena 4 0 10, Lyons 1 0 3, Gibson 1 2 4. Totals: 13 7 37. Dixie (12-4) - Moore 1 0 2, Faith 0 4 4, Schreck 4 5 13, Rabe 4 2 11, Meyer 2 0 4, Jones 1 0 2, Bolan 6 1 13, Niehaus 3 0 6, Hedger 3 1 7, Bradfield 1 1 3. Totals: 25 14 65. Halftime score: Dixie 29-21. 3-pointers: L 4 (Camrena 2, Roark, Lyons); D 1 (Rabe).
  6. This is where "MVP" and "best player" fork in the road. For example, in the state of KY last year I'd argue that Nick Ruthsatz was the "MVP" of the state -- and that Snider was the "best player." The MVP puts the team on his back and wins the region.
  7. I'd argue that one of the criteria for a player to be considered MVP is that their team be in the mix for"best team in their respective region." Players on teams who are not in contention should not be considered for MVP.
  8. 3:33 Ludlow pulls their starters. Ludlow has scored just 9 points so far to this point in the 2nd half.
  9. 55-30 4:01 Dixie's starters are all gone now. 4 of them were pulled with more than 5:00 to play.
  10. Schreck doing his thing. And Bolin starting to assert himself.
  11. #52 from Ludlow is one of my new favorite players. Looks like a nose tackle, but flat gets after it on the floor. He's had several plays tonight that have impressed. I'm adding him to my "All Beef Allstars" team along with the "3-point specialist" from Highlands.
  12. Ludlow hitting 3s Chevy back to his old tricks: - punitive subbing - not letting Dixie push the ball and run - making Dixie slow down and run set plays to a fault Ugly half... reminds me of the Montgomery County game all over again So hard to watch
  13. This should be one of the better games of the night. I'm going with SK in a close one.
  14. Campbell struggles with pressure, so I'm going with Conner. If Wilson were playing I'd go with Campbell, because Conner really lacks size.
