This team should be 12 "college ready" players .... because Indiana's will be. I don't care how it's done but get 12 players that can compete! Good high school players are different than the kids that will go on to a solid college career. Inviting the POY of each region is a nice touch ... to narrow it down to 12 players from all the great players we have in Kentucky is tough to do.

Round 1 in the 29th District: Oldham Co plays North Oldham, the winner probably joins South Oldham in the regional, they play Trimble Co. Same setup as last year, South had the number 1 seed and North and Oldham played in round 1. Which ever two teams advance to New Castle, they should be considered dangerous. Oldham Co is the 2 time defending 8th Region champion, they always seem to play better this time of year. Regardless of what happens, Oldhams' seniors have had a great 2 year run and accomplished much.

Not really a surprise to me ... Oldham has beaten Central, Moore, Manual and played Bullitt East tough, lost by 7. Oldham has won 20 games and always gets it going in Feb for some reason. They have a tough match-up in the district opener against North Oldham. Oldham is the two time defending 8th region champ and is a solid program. Nice win over Doss on a 3 point buzzer beater on senior night!

I think Kristian Morgan should be Player of the Year in the 8th. Great young man too!

All games played in the regular season is for seedings only , correct? The oldham era printed that South Oldham was the regular season district champs???? I've never in 45 years of following high school basketball ever heard of a team being referred to as regular season district champs. My understanding is they have secured the top seed only at this point, am I missing something? Thanks for the help

I think Oldham Co would be 2-3 ... tough schedule and playing well right now

The 8th is definitely not the 6th or 7th but the top of the 8th is competitive with anyone most nights. Collins beat Butler... Oldham County beat Central last night by 9 and Central beat St X earlier by 9 .... both of those teams are solid good basketball teams.

Bracken is very outmatched. This field is really good each match up yesterday was good. Central is a good team .. they play Oldham co on friday night

It's hard to go on the road and win convincingly against a quality opponent. Bullitt East looked good and they will be fine, and so will the OC Colonels. Oldham Co has played Bullitt East for the last three years and this team is the clearly the best BE team we've seen. Oldham Co will get better as this season goes on, they have some players still learning new roles.

Play down to their opponents level? Maybe Oldhams defense had something to do with that ... Bullitt East had trouble with the changing defenses of the Colonels. This was a 3 point game with 1:03 to go ... Willis and Troutman both had solid games. Coach Holland can frustrate the other team with his defense. Example 8th region championship last year, held Collins to 40. Bullitt East is a very good team but Oldham will be a force come tourney time.
