Quick vs. Big Offensive Line
At the high school level you need a balance as stated above. I will take a fast, strong lineman. A lineman can't block until he gets to the point of attack. If he never gets to the point of attack, he is not much use.
- Is CovCath/Highlands still a major KY rivalry?

Covington Catholic @ Highlands Predictions
In the first meeting, the only cch players going both ways were pitzer and shields. It seems like more cch players are seeing both sides of the ball now.

Covington Catholic @ Highlands Predictions
Noticed Chris Reisiger is playing center for covcath, but has played tackle most of last year and many games this year.

Who are the strongest Football players in the state???
Evan Richardson: Highlands: 430 for 3 bench today.

Dixie Heights @ Highlands
I expect this one will be decided by 3 points.

Excessive Blocking
I have seen 3 to 4 times the number of personal fouls this year compared to last year at the high school level. What is being called as a personal foul is often comical.

Who are the strongest Football players in the state???
Evan Richardson Highlands 405 for 5 bench.

Who are the strongest Football players in the state???
When I hear that JC has 16 players over 300, it is obvious that they engage in a public monitoring system, like a record board. If coaches monitor anything, kids will focus on it. Fail to monitor the behavior and the message is that the behavior is not important. Simply letting players go in a weight room and work out will get random results. Methodical monitoring will get beneficial results. I see programs spending a lot of hours in the weight room with no methodical plan to gain strength. That can result in a lot of wasted time. Does JC have a lifting club?

Who are the strongest Football players in the state???
Richardson for Highlands did 185 for 41 at Ryle Big Man Competition during summer.

Who are the strongest Football players in the state???
This is the most impressive stat I have seen on this thread (16 players for one team benching over 300). Huge respect. This shows commitment to strength that starts early in the development of the individual player. I bet they monitor strength gains in a very methodical and public manner.

Who are the strongest Football players in the state???
Highlands has a bye this week and I am sick of thinking about wins and loses. Trying to rekindle an old thread. Any crazy strong players out there this year?

Ryle 48 Highlands 24
Watching this game tonight was shocking. This team needs to stop dabbling in guys going both ways and get serious. Platooning this team is not possible. We had a great opportunity tonight to get guys reps on the other side of the ball and the opportunity was lost. We now have two more opportunities before the district games begin.

Highlands 38 Campbell County 15
Dougherty is a fantastic weapon. Not only burying the ball in the end zone on kickoff, but he is money on field goals. Three weeks ago he buried 4 of 4 into the net from 50 yards out during live practice. With the offense less high powered than last year, it is nice to know we can get three points inside the 35 yard line. We need to get to the point where HHS can pick up those 4th and ones at mid field. I know we can, we just need to be more confident. I believe HHS punted twice on 4th and 1 last night.

Campbell County/Highlands Predictions
Feeling better about this one since it is being played at HHS. East Central seemed to have the same problem with the o-line off sides issues last week that HHS had last year at Campbell.

Cooper 37 Highlands 13
This thread is amazing. The first 24 hours was KY dancing on the grave. I expected that. But, the next 24 has been Highlands fans airing their frustrations and trying to make sure everyone knows who is to blame. I know the parents and fans of HHS are better than this. We got beat by a very good football team. I went to the game and watched the film many times. We were just whipped. Congratulations to Cooper! We will get better. The coaches and players will make adjustments, the sun will come up, and the world will spin. I understand being frustrated, but sometimes getting your tail whipped is exactly what is needed. Take a breath. It's a long season.

5A #1 Highlands @ Cooper Predictions
I watched every offensive play from the scrimmage on hudl tonight looking for "the issue." It did not appear to exist. I have a few observations. First, Mitch did not seem to get as many snaps as a lot of the other receivers. Maybe the coaches have faith in him and know what he can do. Second, I was only able to find one play where he was completely open on the sideline. Instead, the ball was thrown to a player farther down field for a longer gain. He generally played in the slot and was taking shots from the outside backer before he broke off his route. The backer then did a very nice job staying with him.
