Could be, I've never seen MF play so I can't comment on comparisons. Again though, to VORs point, there are some athletes that are pretty special. Combs in a lineman, but athletic enough to warrant a scholarship to play baseball in the SEC. Stringer is athletic enough and fast enough to earn a scholarship to play CF at Louisville, and registered a 6.7 60 in showcases. Burns is the fastest kid on the team, and Slusher also ran a 6.7. Not sure what BW has in past or who said what, but those are facts. I am sure MF has every bit as good as athletes if not better, but to dismiss this BW team as just like the rest, unathletic and just fundamental, is incorrect.

Good chance with his combo of size and speed that Stringer could too if he focused on that. He is more in the Nussbaum mold, great straight line speed and power but not the most elusive. I guess BW folks are as hung up on their athletes as MF is trying to convince us that historical results mean anything on Friday night.

You've posted some really dumb things. You just set a new standard. Jalin Marshall was a Top 100 national recruit and committed to OSU as a junior. I'm all about Drew Morre, but Marshall is not only faster, but has the quicks in space that you cannot teach and what separates good from elite. Now I undersstand all your hype of kids. You simply don't understand talent. Marshall was a sophomore when he played vs SK, I was there and it was an epic beat down of the Pioneers.

Crable has been the starter since day 1. The backup is McViddy, who is playing WR and waiting his turn. This is where I had the GCL rep going out. Wayne is really good, but the last few years Moe has just been tourney strong. It wasn't that long ago that the Moe faithful wanted Coach Roe out, they underachieved for many years

Thats a good game report, and the three players mentioned are great, but the key to this game, and IMO why BW wins, is 59, 50, 79, 74, and 57. That's the big cats up front, and with the exception of Dixie that have been the best unit on the field in every game I've watched. They are huge and also very athletic, Brayden Combs is 59, and he is committed to play baseball at Kentucky. Magnificent nasty streak in him on the football field. 74, 50 and 57 will all be college linemen eventually. Combs is probably the best of them, and would be a D1 football recruit if he wanted to be. The key moment of this season was when the coaching staff convinced Stringer to trust them and go where they lead him, and it's been clicking since.

And unfortunately so has the definition of committed. Baseball is the only of the sports, at least of the men's major sports, that still has some integrity left in the recruiting process. I went through it as a player, but that was several years ago. When I committed, my phone stopped ringing as did my interest in other schools, my dad would have rung my neck if I broke my word. Football is a madhouse, and I blame coaches and parents, not kids. 18 year old boys only know what they want today, not 4 years from now. Parents allowing their kids to issue these early verbals, and subsequently back out of them, are as big a part of then equation as the coaches.

H So you're saying it's not the same for the most part in Ohio? It's the GCL or Cleveland Parochials in big division. It's Delphos St John and smallest level. It's not a Kentucky thing. Best programs are best programs, period. What would playing a more difficult schedule do for Highlands, have them win more state championships? New Cath and BW play arguably the toughest small school schedules you can find, and occasional beat a much larger school. Even if every game counted, how would that change anything?

Going to have to disagree, again, with Slusher. Not that he is on your list, but that you have him on offense. He is the third leading receiver on his own team. He is the home run guy, but Burns and Stokes have been far more consistent. Brett is, however, the best LB I've seen. Sprinter speed and great nose for the football, makes the BW D what it is.

This is Tigers biggest obstacle to a long awaited return to BG. In the end too much size up front and too much Fieger, Slusher, Stringer, Stokes, and Studer. Tigers pull away in second half, 42-21

Y Tigers line is big. 6'5, 6'4, 5'10, 6'3, and 6'5 left to right. They are very physical. Missed last night, but stats confirm my thoughts that Stringer is playing as he was expected to play. No longer looking to hit the home run, playing how a 6'2 190 lb RB should run in HS. Also adds that speed element. he seems to be 4 yards down field before first contact. Add the Fact that Fieger can hurt you bad with his arm, they are clicking. Stokes looks like a college football player to me, what a weapon. All the praise on Slusher in deserved, another burner.

Bird fan highhacks thread that has nothing to do with them. I'll bite though. Through last week, Hoge averages 9.5 yards per throw attempt and 6.4 per rush. Moore 8.6 per pass attempt, 9.0 per rush. Moore wins.

NCC and BW are arguments for the tough sked. Mt Healthy, Dixie, Cov Cath and New Cath all still alive from their non district schedule. Neither of those back down from anyone.

A tough schedule won't make a bad team better. IMO it has a bigger affect on a good but not great team that may lose their edge by playing a weak schedule and falling into a false confidence. A mediocre team that plays a weak schedule can cause them to lose their edge in preparation and game day intensity.

I My reply was to the poster who wondered why Josiah wasn't named, I pointed out that those named were just NKy kids and let him know where he was rated. We all have our opinions. I think Purnell is a top 10 player. Not gonna call out kids I would rate him above specifically, but there are some. Agree 15 is very good, just happen to think he's better than that. That's the Midland honk in me coming out.

This list was the top NKy players. Josiah is rated at #22, 5th rated SS Seems the guys at PBR love the fastball, but that's typical. Top 3 kids all have topped 90 (Stringer has too, but not at PBR event). I would have Currie at 2, he will be over 90 this year and has a 6'7 frame, kid is huge. IMO you can scramble the top 6 and come up with any order. Big arms all around, Combs has crazy power and hits the ball as hard as anyone, and he is forced to play out of position in HS as a 3b. Stringer is the best hitter I've seen at this age group and has a cannon from OF. Good to see Z getting some love, the Ft Myers showing is paying off, I think he will keep rising. I think Purnell is the most under rated kid on that list, I love his all around game.

Highlands folks must not monitor the hoops board. At one time Scott Draud was top 20 all time scorer at Vandy, doubt he still is. Also, fun fact is he made the first three pointer in Vandy history.
