Is Kevin Siple the frontrunner for Class A Coach of the Year?
Porky replied to LCDAWGS19's topic in KY Football (High School)
Kevin is a good person and a very good football coach. He definitely has my vote. Great job Kevin! -

 ...and the two kids mentioned probably do not either since they attend St. Joe so that makes at least four. -
Newport Central Catholic/Bishop Brossart Predictions
Porky replied to Birdsfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
Not too close to this specific situation but heard that is the case with these two kids, that they were never really considering NCC or Brossart because their parent(s) were from Highlands, but I understand what you are saying. -
Newport Central Catholic/Bishop Brossart Predictions
Porky replied to Birdsfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
NCC & Brossart will not really "lose" these two kids. As you mentioned their parents went to Highlands so they were already going to Highlands prior to attending grade school. If the parents attended Highlands in most cases they don't give their kids the option of going to NCC or Brossart. -
Congrats to NCC and goodluck the remainder of the year.

Birds start workouts on Tuesday
Porky replied to Qryche11's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
It applies to all sports and my understanging is that coaches can do whatever they want as long as the workouts are not mandatory. Please correct me if I have mis spoken but this is how it was explained to me. -

Copngratulations to this young lady. Any word on where she will be playing in college next year?

I don't think this is a Title IX issue, is it? Doesn't the varsity team and the junior football league have the same issues as far as having restroom facilities and access for an ambulance to get down the hill? Just asking but it definitely needs to be fixed for anyone that uses the field.

I don't believe Andy plays football any longer. He was the kicker as a sophomore but heard he played golf the last two years. He should be a key player for the Breds this season. -

I agree. I was hoping Mus_tangs would respond to this since he/she disagrees. If Mus_tang or anyone else disagrees please let us know why you think that. -

What about the McDonald kid, the freshman mentioned above in this thread, do you see him getting any varsity minutes? -
Latest Volleyball state coaches poll
Porky replied to BlueKrush's topic in KY Volleyball (High School)
I completely agree with your comments. I was just wondering why anyone thinks they haven't been able to beat St. Henry or advance in the tournaments, with this kind of talent. -
Anytime a 2A school beats a 6A school, I consider it being bullied.
-
Doesn't Notre Dame have to get past St. Henry first to win region 9?
-
Exactly! :thumb:

Latest Volleyball state coaches poll
Porky replied to BlueKrush's topic in KY Volleyball (High School)
Agree with both of you. Gruenschlaeger maybe a small D1? So with the talents of these top four players mentioned and their depth, why is it do you think that they can't compete with Notre Dame and St. Henry like they did with the team they had three years ago? -
I agree, but isn't this the case with all sports? To be really good you have to work year round in basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc. Why not softball? I guess I just don't understand why a school this size don't have more interest in fastpitch softball. Fastpitch softball is such a fun and great sport to watch and compete in.

Thanks for the info and explanation DragonFire. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the detailed update WVFrank. Sounds like they should be pretty solid as long as whoever Moss dishes the ball off to when she is double teamed can finish. I look forward to watching them play this year. Nell always has her team ready and they are always exciting to watch.
