  1. High School- Highlands College - Kentucky, but will also root for Xavier (graduated from both, but graduated from UK first.) NFL - Cincinnati Bengals MLB - Cincinnati Reds NBA - only watch finals, root for underdog NASCAR - do not watch ** I will also root for any NKY high school playing down state, in Ohio or out of town.
  2. I have to think Ludwick was sore or tweaked something...I have to give Dusty the benefit of the doubt here....
  3. Thx for the explanation. I did not know all the ins and outs either. Learn something new everyday.
  4. Agree with madman the rape thing is unacceptable & I had coaches that said unmentionable stuff, but b/c is was done back in the day does not make it the right way to do things. Sure, coaches are gonna lose it & say stuff at times, but this scenario seems worse than isolated etc. The important part of "putting your hands" on a kid is not doing it in anger...
  5. If this is true or not the coach should be fired for at LEAST 3 of those comments. As a coach you have many tasks / things to attend to...these comments actions are not helpful or teaching tools in any way...You are NEVER allowed to put your hands on a kid in anger PERIOD. If I am in charge that coach would be fired immediately for the touching alone. As a parent they should report the incidents to the AD, Principal, & Super, if this is a school team. I hope this is hypothetical!
  6. DB's will be fine they have Murray, Heck, & Streeter returning + these guys are getting reps against a very good WR corps everyday in practice.
  7. I knew I'd forget someone, but I doubt anyone goes both ways...
  8. Agreed. It should be fun to watch...We will know more on 8/17 vs. Scott Co.
  9. Keep in mind that when I start listing names that I will surely forget somebody, probably even a starter or two, but here goes... OL- T Whitford G Thome C Dee G Schweitzer T Turner, Grimm, or K. Kramer for the other spot. Also, cannot count out Saunders, Lemmons, & Thurston from last yrs JV line. LB - Wrobleski, Paolucci & with Bardo & Abner looking good in the defensive backfield You may see Schutte, Cochran, or Kruse at LB, but thing change almost daily as guys start rising to the top as pads change things DB - Murray, Streeter, Abner, Bardo, Heck...but as I said Im SURE Ive forgotten someone I don't know as much abt the D b/c Coach W is always close to the vest with his personnel moves...That being said he will put the best on the field regardless. I guess Brockett is early favorite at K and Mettens at P, but I only say that b/c they were the JV starters last yr. Birds are really strong at OL, RB, and WR IMO
  10. I have to think if he does not get the starting job he will be JV QB, but also look for him to start at another position for varsity games as well. He is just to good to watch from the sidelines as strictly the back up QB.
  11. Agreed. He is a good RB in a seemingly crowded backfield. He could easily score 10 or more.
  12. He's on the list with the RB's.
  13. The skill positions are stocked: McCoy vs. Houliston at QB (Hoge JV) Seidl, Harris, Hayes, Donovan, Urlage at RB (I'm sure I forgot someone) Turner, Greene, Christian, Collinsworth, Hergott, Weyer, and more at WR (I know I forgot some here) True at TE 6'6 approx 235
  14. The coaches are nice about it & they do have a way of encouraging the guys to do what's best for the team. They will let them know they are needed in their role etc. Coach Turner is the magic man! Guys line up to play on his line.
  15. Pads were on guys today in FT....2-a-days start tomorrow a.m. O-line is looking good. For once Coach Turner has a big line filled with game tested vets. He may be the most underrated coach in KY. The receiving corps is deep and should be another strength on O.
  16. I hear you, but don't worry about decisions b/c the players may think they get to choose their position, but they do not...
  17. No problem at all. I simply meant that a high school kid is usually not allowed to pick schools or decide to transfer on his own...
  18. If you read my reply I said nothin about him being FROM NC or any attachment. I also stated that maybe his parents want him to play QB too. There is absolutely no harm whatever the reason.
  19. I am not sure what program you are referring too, but I had a feeling he was not gonna beat out Cain for QB at NewCath. Cain has size, athleticism, arm strength etc. KY Joe mentioned the boy having his priorities messed up...Where are his parents? I would think they have an opinion or maybe they want him to play QB too or maybe he is leavin for HC because he wasn't fitting in with the guys...Who knows?
  20. Private or independent program? How about any program...I would think almost any program has an idea abt who their QB is gonna be or at least have a 2- horse race in mind. BTW- there is no such thing as an independent football program in KY. If you are referring to independent school districts such as Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow, Southgate, Ft. Thomas, Covington to name a few the title "independent Schools" simply denotes that they are a separate taxing district than the county. This allows those districts to levy taxes within the set boundaries, maintain their own school board etc. It has nothing to do with athletics or any other school entity other than the finance side.
  21. I had heard that Coach was gonna try to 2- platoon with such a strong class, but when the pads go on the injuries / walking wounded increase.
