What does Simon Kenton need to do to improve in 2012? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

I am looking forward to learning about SK and going to some games this year, since we now live in Independence and our girls will be going to school there. Granted it will be a long time from now the oldest is only 5 haha. Neerfan will have to break me into the SK community.

After putting up several 8+ win seasons in row, this program won only two games in 2011. This team struggled to put the ball in the end zone . The strengths of the team should be team speed on defense and on the offensive line. The skill position players are still developing and are as yet, in my opinion, unproven. The coaching staff and facilities are first rate, but I do see some evidence of budgetary limits impacting the program. Off season Beechwood transfers really hurt.

I disagree. You must have not watched to many SK games last year the O-line could not block anybody. The skill position players will be the strength of this team. They return starters at WR, TE and RB. SK should have around 20 Seniors and 35 Juniors this year. Also QB Brenan Kuntz (6'3 190 pounds) has added close to 30 pounds this year. Plus should I wouldn't be surprised if Andrew Sampson and Logan Winkler get some reps at WR.

Thx for posting the schedule UK & jolm. Wow! That is a very tough schedule throughout. Love the bowl games and interesting challenges in Lincoln, Pulaski, & Scott County in non-district play. It should be a fun season to watch. Best of luck!

What you perceive as poor blocking was actually indecision by a sophomore QB who was not ready for varsity play. So I stand by my previous statements.

 

The good news is that the now junior QB has experience. If there is a running game to compliment the passing game, he could be effective.

On defense SK returns 6 players who had double digits in tackles. So once again the defense should be very good add in 4 new starters looks like it will be a good year for SK.

O-line has been awful the past 2 season Lawrence never had time to throw the ball either Kuntz is good QB if given time to throw the ball.

Swanson has had snaps at running back several times he should be fine at RB. I hope they give some other kids some snaps at RB also. I would love to Krallman run the ball sometimes.
