  1. I hear you, but don't worry about decisions b/c the players may think they get to choose their position, but they do not...
  2. Gotcha. No problem at all.
  3. No problem at all. I simply meant that a high school kid is usually not allowed to pick schools or decide to transfer on his own...
  4. If you read my reply I said nothin about him being FROM NC or any attachment. I also stated that maybe his parents want him to play QB too. There is absolutely no harm whatever the reason.
  5. I am not sure what program you are referring too, but I had a feeling he was not gonna beat out Cain for QB at NewCath. Cain has size, athleticism, arm strength etc. KY Joe mentioned the boy having his priorities messed up...Where are his parents? I would think they have an opinion or maybe they want him to play QB too or maybe he is leavin for HC because he wasn't fitting in with the guys...Who knows?
  6. Private or independent program? How about any program...I would think almost any program has an idea abt who their QB is gonna be or at least have a 2- horse race in mind. BTW- there is no such thing as an independent football program in KY. If you are referring to independent school districts such as Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow, Southgate, Ft. Thomas, Covington to name a few the title "independent Schools" simply denotes that they are a separate taxing district than the county. This allows those districts to levy taxes within the set boundaries, maintain their own school board etc. It has nothing to do with athletics or any other school entity other than the finance side.
  7. I had heard that Coach was gonna try to 2- platoon with such a strong class, but when the pads go on the injuries / walking wounded increase.
  8. I cannot confirm that, but if true HC sure gets a lot of these transfers in football & ball.
  9. Dixie has not won state in football to my knowledge, but it may have happened before my time. Hypothetically, I think a 6A NKY all star team could be assembled and possibly beat St. X & T, but that game will never happen so it is a moot point. But all this talk on BGP abt how unbeatable T & X are is sickening! It is exactly the reason people love an upset like the Miracle on Ice and/or the '90 Reds sweeping the "unbeatable" A's in the world series just to name a couple... As they say anything can happen. A little luck, an injury, a bad game or some close calls going the other way and you are looking at an L. I for one always root for any NKY team when they are playing teams from down state, Ohio or whatever and I will continue to do so...Let's not crown king's in July.
  10. The way those scrimmages Go I would be surprised if the frown get a whole lot of snaps vs. Trinity. There is a time limit. I believe it is 3 hrs...
  11. No disrespect to SK, but I saw St. X JV last year & they were very good. Assuming that is this year's varsity with whatever X had returning they will be tough to beat. That being said I did not see SK play last season. Also, I doubt that X's JV is 5th in the state...Good job by Coach Marksberry scheduling X for a scrimmage. It will challenge the team & give the SK staff good film to break down b4 week 1. SK will learn their strengths and weaknesses and can use that info.
  12. I saw the boys soccer team was on it last night, so it must not be too bad.
  13. Does he remember what school or community this guy was from?
  14. Bad news. I wish him a full & speedy recovery...
  15. Watched some of practice... Here is what I saw as far as positions are concerned in the brief time I was there. No real shockers imo: QB - Hergott RB - Dougherty & Kendall WR - Cain, New, Miller OL - Hebel, Richardson, McManus?, Bradford, Haas?, It was tough to tell who everyone was as I was at a distance...
  16. Heard Coach Sandfoss resigned due to philosophical differences and upset over a perceived lack of communication from head coach.
  17. Maybe the new guy can help them get out of the district next season.
  18. Heard abt this in early June. Do the Cincy kids work out with a former HC player? Perhaps McClendon...
  19. Thx for the update JOAT. Great experience for those two young men! These guys are excellent reps for KY, Ft., & Highlands! Both are high quality people & I look forward to watching them in a Birds uniform for 4yrs!
  20. I hope he recovers quickly! I've also heard of a volcano gone bad too. Sounds like some much deserved compensation coming his way.
  21. Thx for posting the schedule UK & jolm. Wow! That is a very tough schedule throughout. Love the bowl games and interesting challenges in Lincoln, Pulaski, & Scott County in non-district play. It should be a fun season to watch. Best of luck!
  22. UK fan will post the SK schedule? Thx
  23. Have you ever suffered though a 7-14 season? Lol! Sadly, nobody is happy leaving any gym with a loss.
