  1. Not as much as speed as last year but Mayfield is not slow. Plenty of weapons to strike from anywhere and a experienced offensive line. The defense looked very tough with Jackson all over the field. I think it will be hard to run on the Cards this year. Marshall has a ways to go but I saw a glimmer of hope in the second half and they played hard the whole game.
  2. Long way to go till the friday after Thanksgiving . Injuries , weather, teams overlooking teams. If Mayfield is fortunate enough to get to the semi-final game this game could go down to the wire. Mayfield is somewhat similiar in talent this year as in last years team . Not as much speed but smart and they will have more power in the backfield. They should be very good on defense. Mayfield has a 9th grader that I was impressed with, his name is Mills. I guess the question is has Beechwood closed the gap from last year? One final note, 00 Rocket, Critt. Co has Mayfields attention.
  3. Boyle Christian Co Belfry Tates Creek Highlands Ballard Conner Ryle NCC GRC 44
  4. I always thought Mikey Bright of Mayfield was as good as any player i have seen
  5. Good job Lone Oak. I think its a great tool to have. It will only help LO in the long run.
  6. You're saying that he ran a 5.3 forty? From "your sources".
  7. 00 , you still haven't said where you got his times from.
  8. He aint running 5.3 either. 00, where are you getting your information? 4.9 sounds high too. My guess is he can run about a 4.7 . I've seen him the open field and while he doesn't have blazing speed , he does look fairly swift. I do know he is already on the radar of several schools and if he grows some more in the next 3 years he should be SEC material. If not, it's Murray State.
  9. I sorta took 00 as legit. Common sense will tell you he doesn't run a 5.3 forty. By the way, Jonathon did so well at the Atlanta camp he got an invite the Oklahoma Sooners camp. If this young man gets to 6'2" he will go big time. I wouldn't trade him for any sophomore in the state.
  10. I guarentee thats a misprint, mistake, typo what ever you wanna call it on the 5.3 40. I dont know what he runs but big ole linemen can run 5.3 40's.
  11. One thing is for certain, you can't talk about state championships at Graves. As for this years team, they should be in the thick of it.
  12. I look for Mayfield to be very solid. I believe this will become Johnathon Jacksons team with him running the ball and his very solid play from the linebacking postion. As long as there are no injuries and other "things" don't occur,I look for Mayfield to be one of the top 2 or 3 teams, if not the top team.
  13. I dont know if I would say Mayfield is the favorite maybe one of them. I do know Beechwood will be improved and looking for some possible revenge. I do hope to possibly make a trip to the Cincy area in November. Good luck to Beechwood .
  14. I know Beechwood will be good but will they really be the ones to beat in 1A?
  15. I'd change offsides on the defense, that if they get back before the ball is snapped its not offsides.
  16. Xavier Shelton was the best player I saw. I'm a Mayfield fan but I didn't see a better individual player from another team that I thought was better than him. I did like the QB from Crittenden County and the QB , receiver and running back from LCA. They were all very good. Also the the big lineman from LCA was by far the best lineman I saw this past season, I hope UK gets him next year.
  17. One finished in Bowling Green and one didn't , hmmm. Nice point.
  18. Nobody in Mayfield is exactly overjoyed losing the state title game but the facts are this. Mayfield had a much better season than Hazard , we won all the games that counted except one and this year and the years forward we will be recongized as the state runnersup.
