  1. I guess now they refill tanks and set them up along the way? Hoping they can get the last 4 and the coach out tomorrow.
  2. Rescue is underway. Hopefully, more good news to come.
  3. Heard the same.Sure hope they can continue to make progress.
  4. Good points. Also, if they have to delay the operation due to conditions, the stronger kids would have a better chance to continue to survive.
  5. Indeed! Heavy monsoon rains are starting.
  6. The first 2 boys have been rescued!
  7. They are hoping for the first boy to be out by 10am! It was now or never, with monsoon rains coming. The water in chambers 1,2 and 3 is low enough right now to walk through. Prayers for all!
  8. I can’t even imagine. How did this happen? How do you get in but can’t get out?

  15. I tead this comment on Facebook. It is referencing the state track championship meet on this past Thursday. “I cannot offer any kind words for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) - scheduling a state track meet for a school day is one thing but on a day of Advanced Placement tests is disgraceful. The KHSAA made STUDENT-athletes choose between taking tests that would gain college credit and competing at state. I think we should encourage kids to challenge themselves academically and not punish them. The bright side of this experience is that the students carried themselves with grace and dignity and did what they could under trying circumstances. Maybe, they taught a lesson to the KHSAA.” Thoughts on this?
  16. St Henry’s Ethan Snyder is distance beast! State champion in the 3200M! A great student as well. He will continue his running career at Western Kentucky University.
  17. St Henry had a big night on Thursday at Scott. Both the boys and girls teams got first place. Well done, Crusaders!
  18. All 3 are seniors. Any juniors, sophomores or frosh showing promise?
  19. Forever etched in my memory.
  20. Outstanding! This is awesome! Enjoy every minute!
  21. I’m sorry to hear this. RIP Coach Beard.
  22. I completely agree that the grades MUST be the priority, even to the point that I would encourage a student to quit a sport if they are doing poorly in classes DUE to not enough time to complete the work. (Note that I said that that they should quit if having time to complete assignments and prepare for tests is preventing them from getting the high marks.) Academic scholarships are a sure thing. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with investing in the club sports year round, if you can afford it and if it is what your child wants to do---even if your child is not going to pursue the sport in college. Being part of a very good team and playing at a high level, travelling around to tournaments, training and playing with other club athletes who are as driven as you are is a once in a lifetime experience in and of itself. No shame in enjoying the ride. It's making memories and doing something that you will never be able to do again in your life.
