I know plenty of people who have coached high school football for a long time who still don't know what they are talking about, including myself. Not saying you're one of them just saying it doesn't mean people who coach know what they are talking and tend to think their teams are better than what they are. If the power rankings are usually pretty close in accuracy and NCC is #1 then that's fine by me.

Tough one to call. I think it depends on the mindset HC has brought this week in practice. Do they buckle down or pack it in?

Have you seen NCC play? I haven't seen Somerset so I really can't make a prediction at this point. NCC does have it easy I think to the 4th round, can't do anything about that. It's great to have confidence in the team you support but its naive to make statements like that if you haven't seen the opponent.

Highlands was down 3 and it was a fake FG with no time left with a question if Burns caught the ball which doesn't matter cuz it was a great game. Duffy made a comment during an NCC injury that set Schneider off.

Why do the 3 power rankings have NCC #1 and in BGP has them #3?.....Oh that's right OC is "UNDEFEATED!" In my best deep voice. Lol. It will sort it's self out.

Not in this case. Gamble had NCC on board and Highlands then ask Gamble to play Scott Co.

Highlands had an oppurtunity to open with NCC next year in the Skyline Crosstown and declined when they had an opening. I know this isn't about being afraid to play NCC but I was stunned that Highlands would not play that game considering they have tried to schedule NCC several times over the past few years. The game would have been at Nippert.

Not a very good comparison. Those who watched both teams prior to that state game that had football sense could see that game was going to be one sided. As I said in previous posts I haven't seen OC yet this year but when you look at the schedule and scores it appears to be similar. Long way to go to see it all unfold.

With all due respect they're counted!....through the first 3 weeks. I spoke to Barth week 7, he was shocked by the NCC team he was watching and they have made some strides since. I'll be happy for him when they get to the 3rd round. He's doing a great job out there.

First off, winner of NCC/WV? All due respect to Walton and their fans but NCC rolls in the third week of the playoffs. Haven't seen Somerset or Danville but I will prior to that game.

I'm not arguing they should be in a different class, i just know they are close so they may be in 1A next realignment. Not a Brossart fan. Think the football plan was poorly orchestrated. Coaching changes don't make up for bad administration choices.

Yes everyone up North when they beat NCC. They weren't tested after that.

I realize coaching must have played a huge part in their victories against Brossart, Newport, and Grant Co. Oh and I forgot Leslie Co and Taylor. Coaching does make all the difference! Next year they can schedule a junior high team to get over 500.

I'm not pretending he's a great coach by any means. Name the coach and nothing changes, go to 1A and nothing changes. I get it. A coaching change just means the kids learn a new system and set back a couple more years. As far as 1A they will still have a better chance at competing with the Dayton and Ludlows of the world.

I agree the program is struggling, no doubt about that! But you act like the coach gets to decide what class they play in. IMO this has little to with coaching and more with a program deciding they wanted to forgoe independent as opposed to district football. Getting put in 2A by KHSAA didn't help. Not a Brossart fan at all but think it has less to with coaching and more about too much too soon. Good luck getting a reputable coach taking that job while they're in 2A.

Jumper Dad I typically agree with your post and agree with the majority of your picks but do you honestly believe their are that many teams that could win it in 2A? With the classes watered down as far as playoff teams I can't imagine that many teams have a shot. Ofcourse I don't have the luxury of seeing all these teams play so I could be wrong.

NCC really played well in all aspects of the game, more one sided than I thought it would be. Good Luck to Beechwood in their playoff run. If they can find someone to take the focus off #44 they can hopefully put together a playoff run.
