All I know is the players took it as a call out to the carpet, and they responded with their play on the field.

One person making a statement doesn't make it everyone's view. On the other hand trying to spin words into something they are not makes people look desperate to make comments look bad when they are not. A QB saying the defense can do the same thing they did last time is hardly a dig. No mention of a blowout.

They held them to 14 points a month ago, why would he think any different. I think its funny how touchy some are, "he said they were going to blow them out". I think some of you are creating the so called lack of respect coming the NCC camp.

I'm not saying it is ALL coaching but a turn around like that isn't just players getting better. It's a combination...not to mention that year that loss woke them up.

I will give the win '06. This brings me back to the coaching factor....41-7 in the playoffs in '06.

Again none of it matters but Newcath didn't lose the Cooper scrimmage. Year in and year out the Newcath schedule tough, this year it was down because those teams weren't great this year. Move on!

This disscussion has gotten way off base. First meeting was 31-14. Both teams have gotten better. NCC QB is healthy...seemed to be a topic of debate. Holy Cross has out scored latest opponents 154-0... doesn't matter when it comes to playing Newcath. If Newcath plays a decent game they win, if they don't anything can happen, it is the playoffs.

Sounds like a good assessment of HC from a HC fan. Keeping composure and not getting down on yourself is very important and I know Newcath has that composure. On paper I think Newcath is the better team but this is the playoffs and HC upset is not out of the question. If NCC plays with the passion they played with Friday I think they advance and most likely by 2 or 3 tds. The other factor is coaching. With all due respect to the HC staff at this point in the playoffs adjustments play a large part of the game and NCC has proved year in and year out that they make those adjustments. It starts with the Head Coach and I think the better one is on the Newcath sideline!

I don't think you give Beechwood enough credit. Eminence schedule was poor. Hopefully Beechwood gets their injured players some rest to make a run in the games that are going to be competitive.

Congrats on 11-0 but the OC schedule wasn't exactly killer. If HC plays their game they win by 2 or 3 scores.

Newport won 8 straight against NCC in the late 70's and to the mid 80's since then Newcath has dominated.

I didn't start the Frisk thing, I just replied to someone putting Frisk at #2. I think Frisk was a very good running back, no doubt about that. I'm not sure Kelly would either and you could make the same case at Highlands with Frisk.
