So, what can we possibly glean from a win-less team that has no business in the playoffs down 57-0 at half? Good for the kids? Glad we had some extra football? So happy to play the playoff game that they called Fairview to get it over with on Thursday?

I'm sorry, I'm not buying that the playoff situation is fine.

My opinion... Top 2 in districts make it only. Usually the 2nd round games are competitive.

They may score 100.

It is a joke.

I agree, top 2 or top 3 at best. It is crazy, kids do not want, nor do they deserve to be beaten this badly. Go back to a 4 class system, top 2 or 3 teams advance. This makes the regular season a little more meaningful, and making the playoffs something special.

And there have been district playoff games in basketball with scores of 100-20. When they change the playoffs for other sports, they can change them for football.

69-0 final

Sometimes, teams come from a 4th seed and play very well. Highlands was the 4th seed in 1995 and made it to State. Lost but made it. It's got nothing to do with 4 teams from each district. It has everything to do with there being 6 classes. Again, beating the dead horse, but it is what it is! It has to be fixed. But then again, someone said it's all about the money. I wonder if there really is that more money made with 6 classes.

Apples and anvils. I love how the argument from those opposed to change in the playoff format always compare to basketball. This is a football problem on it's own merit. 44-0 after the first quarter. With no disrespect to Phelps, they were winless on the year and had no business in the playoffs. Something needs to change.
