Haven't heard much about this, other than many believe BoCo is a tough place for much continuity. Any word on possible candidates? Interview dates? Hire dates?

How many districts have All Tournament Teams? What are your thoughts on having All Tournament Teams, especially at the District level of play? When I was coaching, I hated them, especially when the tournament manager asked me to pick the players from my team who deserved the honor. Thankfully in the 38th District, the coaches don't have to do that, as a couple of media members have that task. To me, All Tournament Teams only open the door to internal jealousies for those teams moving on to Regional play. I don't have as much of a problem with Regional or Sweet 16 All Tourney Teams. Despise regular season all tourney teams as well.

This one was over fairly early. Nicholas pulled to within 3 at 17-14 in the second period, but it was all Harrison County after that. Starters for Harrison Co. didn't play at all in the fourth period. Congrats to the Breds!! Future looks pretty good for the Breds as well. They do have several seniors, but some talented underclass men as well.

Congratulations to the Breds on a resounding win over the Wildcats! Sounds like brother Larry, the staff and the players put it all together for this one. Good job!!

I'm merely playing the devil's advocate here. I am a former coach and athletic director. Personally, I would like to see the Regional Tournament at Mason County every year, though Harrison County would be much more centrally located for the entire region. Harrison County could handle all the first round games, as could many other schools in the region. Could probably handle split session semis as well. Finals would be a different story. You never want to turn people away. Which is my exact point with Pendleton County hosting the 38th District Tournament. They could handle some games in the tournament, but not big games that draw lots of people....unless people choose not to come, thinking they won't be able to get in.

I do not think the Khsaa sets all post-season ticket prices. That price is determined by the schools involved in the tournament.

Let me be clear, I am NOT proposing that any of the schools in the 38th District should host the 10th Region Boys Tournament. Simply stating that the schools of the 38th COULD choose to have the Tourney played wherever they want. Irregardless of the numbers posted regarding capacities and recent 38th District attendance figures, I cannot fathom the largest crowds at Harrison County fitting into PCs gym. Perhaps it's a good thing that the 38th District is looking less at revenue and more at eliminating a competitive advantage of having the same team host all the time. Maybe that would be a good thing for the Regional Tournament as well. Raise ticket prices for those smaller capacities to offset the revenue generated by larger crowds.

In 2014 Pendleton will host, 2015-Robertson will host, 2016-Nicholas will host, 2017-Harrison hosts. My point, if the size of the facility is not an issue in the District Tournament, why should it be in the Regional? In the 10th Region, each of the four districts has the opportunity to designate the host site for the Regional. In the past, the 37th (Northern Ky. schools) opted to have tournament at NKU, the 38th has opted for Mason Co., the 39th chooses Mason Co. and the 40th has chosen Montgomery Co. When it's the 38ths turn again, next year I think, the schools COULD opt to have the tournament anywhere they choose. It appears facility size isn't a priority for them, so why not have the tournament at the school that wins the 38th District Tournament?

The 38th District decided today to allow all schools (Harrison, Pendleton, Robertson and Nicholas Countys) to host the boys and girls tournaments over the next four years. This year Harrison will host. In the 38th, Harrison and Nicholas have facilities that can easily host. I haven't seen Robertson County's new gym, so can't comment on them. In my opinion, Pendleton County doesn't have the seating capacity to handle a championship game-type crowd. I am all for sharing the wealth, when it comes to comparable facilities. No ill will toward PC, just don't think their gym is big enough. Now if the 38th District has any collective intestinal fortitude, the next time they get to determine the 10th Region host site, they'll opt to have it in the gym of the 38th District winner. I would love to hear the repercussions if any of the four schools in the 38th were to host that tournament.

Also, it was decided that all 4 district teams will now host the 38th District Tournament. 2014 @ Pendleton, 2015 @ Robertson, 2016 at Nicholas, 2017 at Harrison. No problem with Nicholas and Harrison and haven't seen Robertson's new digs, BUT there is no way that PC's gym is capable of hosting. With two bands, cheerleaders, team passes... There won't be 700 available seats. It's my understanding that if there is an overflow crowd, those folks who don't get in will be allowed in the auxiliary gym where video will be available, along with live radio feed. Can't wait for that.

Younger guys probably don't know this, heck I'm 53 and I didn't know it til about 10 years ago, but back in the 1960s and before, basketball officials were essentially free agents. Coaches had the ability to secure whatever officials they wanted, or could get, for their home games. If social media was around then, these boards would light up, huh?

I'm playing in high school, at Harrison Co., against Louisville Male (Griffith, Turner, etal.) Harrison Co. has the ball. Scoop blows his whistle and calls "5 seconds in the lane", on the defense, and gives the ball back to Harrison Co. We all looked at each other for a few seconds, figured he knew what he was doing, and continued with game. Classic.

Tyler Wagner played two minutes last night, changed into his street clothes for second half and didn't make the trip tonite.

I left with a few seconds to go and Campbell was up 7 pts. Neither of these teams played like 10th Region contenders. Harrison was a man short due to sickness, and several others appear to be sick...at least they played like they were ill. Very ugly game, little enthusiasm from players....as a result the sparse crowd just kinda sat on their hands and watched.

Phil Grier, Scoop Brown, Dickie Vories, John Middleton, Jerry Jenkins, Eddie Sellier, Walt Overstrert, Doug Hampton, John Radjunas, Cornbread Stethen...I'll think of some more golden oldies and report back.

I seem to remember, years ago, that Holy Cross wore jerseys that were different. Weren't the typical tank top jerseys that everyone wore. They were ahead of the curve and wore made to order jerseys that included short sleeves. I'm sure there were others in the state that did the same. Was it a dress code issue with Holy Cross at the time? Same with other parochial schools, or just a school by school basis?

Harrison County administration felt it best not to travel tonight. Breds at Campbell Co. postponed. Rescheduled for next Wednesday at Campbell County.
