Unless there is a really reasonable explanation the coaching staff should be fired immediately. Coaches CHOOSE to score that many , they think it looks good . They are terrible sports and I hope it comes back to bite them horribly bad . Just step the dang base early a couple times after you are up 15-20 to zero. Instead of running it up where its an issue . I've been in that spot dozens of times , coached a experienced deep small school team that played other small schools in conference play , we gave up less than 10 runs on the season to conference teams , never beat anyone like that.

Any reason they ran the score up on them ?

East isnt top 11 in the state IMO . Close , very close but nationally ranked is just dumb.

Pretty dang cool. Huge congrats kid . Madi was always .. always , ALWAYS a defensive dynamo . Kid could pick it like crazy and routine was ALWAYS routine with her . The thing that amazes me most is the growth of her offensive game. shows what hard work and dedication can produce . Her old Doom 95 team was a special group of kids . 6-8 kids that played with them at some point went D1 .

Yeah I saw them edge top ranked D3 team from Ohio Wheelersburg and was very impressed . Having said that rankings in Ohio are like drawing names out of a hat . I know a D3 school with two D1 signed pitchers that isn't even ranked . Ohio has 4 divisions in softball.

If I'm not mistaken Max preps also East Carter ranked in the top 25 nationally and thats just embarrassing if true .

JMHO they didnt do that because they cant compete yet . Key word yet . I hope they get there because I'm from Eastern Ky .. I want eastern ky to improve as a whole , but staying home and playing no one does not further the cause. They need tested because if they drew a top 5 team in the sweet 16 this season they would get mercied .. just my opinion.

EJ has a very fine team . You beat them you are no slouch .

I said it moves some , just not a lot , she's a power pitcher , not a junk baller . No disrespect intended . The day I watched her curve was sliding some , just not a bunch. Didn't throw many rises the 3-4 innings I watched. Future is very bright for this team , but this year they don't have the experience to do much at the state tourney . I think the 16th got a good side on the draw so maybe they can cash it into a couple wins . If they get there .

At what point does the baggage and abuse over ride the results ? I'm not familiar with the guy but he's drama drama drama all the time . Yes he wins , but so did Bobby Knight .

I can give you a glimpse because thats all I got . I watched 2/3 of 1 game against 16th regional foe Russell. It was at Russell and they were really jacked up to face EC and Fouts . Russell had a 2-1 lead in the 7th and lost 3-2 . Fouts is obviously the real deal , you dont get SEC attention by being just good . I watched her from behind the plate and cant say her ball breaks a lot , but she throws at a velocity that kids are not used to seeing and yes she does spin it some , appeared to have very good control . Thats the good news . The bad , or better choice of words is weaknesses is I didnt see a very complete team . 2b - Mayo , is a strong player . But the rest was not so great . Average team from the 16th , riding a stud pitcher , but not near good enough to compete with the top 6-8 or so in Ky . Thats my take .

I do wish the kid the best and certainly hope she doesnt miss many games . I'm a sucker for Madi I suppose . It always grated on my nerves she never got the accolades she very much deserved . Thats all.

Ashland lost to a pretty mediocre small school team from Ohio - Symmes Valley. That tells me Ashland should be no where near the top 20 in Ky .

East Carter might be the Fav in the 16th but they strike me as a 1 horse team. They have the studette in the circle and a fine 2b , but to me the rest of the team isnt up to sweet 16 material. Someone scores on them first they could be in trouble . Russell played them even as was ahead in the 7th against EC 2 weeks ago. So I'm not sold that EC coast to 16th region title , even with the flame thrower in the circle. And if they get there they ain't going far . Just a very unbalanced team. JMHO .

East Jess pushed a run across in the 7th to edge Wheelersburg 3-2 . Earlier east jess over host Russell 12-10 ... and later in the day East Carter over Russell 3-2 . Russell has a 2-1 lead over Fouts and East carter into the 7th as I was told by Russell parent . Fouts can certainly sling it . Not exactly a stellar team around her but shes so good they don't need to be . I'd say they are ranked about right .. 10-15th .
