a guy from up north in Ohio added 13 more org's that offer all age groups - Thats 43 different organizations .

Just for fun I took 10 minutes and named 30 organizations in Ohio that field at least 5 different teams under the same team name. Meaning a 10u,12u,14,16u and 18u team . And I'd bet there are 10-15 more I cant remember. 30 organizations fielding complete teams through every age group ( or at least 4 out of the 5 age groups) . Thats a bunch of players .

True , but there just isn't any depth.

I'd say there are 20 or more Org's in Ohio that have been around a decade or more and have teams in all age groups that continually send kids to different levels of college play .

Ok I'm gonna hijack the thread for a moment to give a look into depth of teams and talent outside the state lines of Ky . This year results for just a handful of Ohio teams . Laser Purple won 16u ASA/USA nationals in Texas . Laser Green won the 14u ASA/USA nationals in So Dakota . Laser Blue made the national title game at ASA/USA 18u . (lost 2-1 in the final) Laser White won PGF 14u midwestern regional . Stingrays 05 won the all sanctions 10u WS in Columbus . Laser Orange --Central Ohio Ice - Team Ohio - Sundogs were the last 4 teams left . at 16 ASA Eastern Regionals in Delaware . Ohio Stampede ( honeslty I've never heard of them ) won 14u Poweraide Natl Championship in New York . Outlaws 02 won the 13u USSSA natl title . Thats just a sampling of results . I'm sure other Outlaw teams had some high national finishes as well.

The Stunners and Sluggers both put out good teams on a consistent basis. No doubt about that . But on a on going , year after year basis , there isnt hardly any organization that will play anything close to a national schedule like those 2 do . Bluegrass Blaze used to show up at some good events . Am I missing anyone ? Sadly for Ky lots go play in Ohio, Ind , Tn and even Illinois .

Welcome R Goodman . Ky is an odd state for fastpitch . First let me say I'm a Kyian' , I bleed BLUE . But my kid played travel ball out of Ohio and went to HS in Ohio. KY produces GREAT softball players , there just isnt that many travel orgs that are well established that have coaching staffs or leaders that have been in place for years. So getting Ky kids recruited outside their home area isnt easy . I'm open to being corrected but there isnt many orgs playing either PGF national tournies or ASA/USA year ending events . The talent level is really solid in Western Ky , the talent in Eastern Ky is somewhat behind ( not that there isnt great individuals) but the power easily resides in the western half of the state. Sorry just read where you were talking HIGH SCHOOL teams . Anyway most of what I said is true for HS as well as travel. The east certainly has a BEAST in Alabama verbal Montana Fouts from the eastern part of the state , she makes them top 5 next year for sure .

My guess is the team that won the lottery ( Fouts) was on the good side of the score ? anyone have a link to a box score or a media report ?

Greenup co HS .. can be argued the 76 team with Steve Scaggs VS the 83 team led by 6'11 Mike Scott .. Mike seems to not gather much respect as his career stalled at KY , people tend to harp on what he couldnt do as opposed to what he did do .. Signed in the ACC at Wake , started the entire year at C as a freshman . How many Ky kids have even done that type of thing ? I'd say the 83 team was the best GC ever produced ( I'm biased I was a bench warmer on that team ) , had the bad luck of drawing Henry Clay in Lexington in the opening round who won it that year , then Mike closed out his career at the sweet 16 in 85 as GC drew eventual state champ Hoptown in the opening round . I believe Mike had 35 points in that game and the sweetest behind the back pass from a 6'11 guy ever

Chill out , I never said a couple of those things ! . East Carter had a GREAT run at the sweet 16 . I thought they might struggle against teams that put a lot of balls in play because in the regular season Fouts was so entirely dominant they didnt have to play much D .. thats not disrespect it's just common knowledge and fact . 21 outs in a game .. she strikes out 15 . Friend thats not much D being played . But She's so good they are going to that 12-15 K's a game because she's that dominant . They had a great run to finish 5th and had the final four nearly secured . I knew after the tough draw they could do some damage . But from watching East Jess in person it was my opinion they were going to have a rough start . Thats doesnt make me negative against EC , just stating the truth . This experience of getting some W's down there great for all those young players. They will benefit HUGE from getting those W's and advancing like they did . If they play a tougher schedule they will be better prepared to see the Male's Scott co's etc etc . They are a def top 5 team next year and I wish them the best . I want Eastern Ky fastpitch to catch up with the west . I'm on your side SB fan1016 . If you were ask before that last game -- You think EC wins if they score 6 runs ? Heck I'd bet ON EC against most small college teams with Fouts and 6 runs . So enjoy the ride and get those kids playing some good travel ball. Forgive me for upsetting you , it really wasnt intentional.

Hard to believe they scored 6 runs and lost . Who would have thought that could happen.

I'd still put them as a solid favorite to advance . As long as Fouts is in the Circle they are the fav over most teams . And Davies Co was 3 outs from losing to highlands before an unlikely comeback.

With her being a big time strike out pitcher that's a poop ton of pitches to throw in day , counting warmups and all , prob 500-600 total today .

Does East have another pitcher or going to ride Fouts til the end ? Three games is tough in 1 day.

Looks like a 7-4 final. East Jess moves on. Not a bad showing for EC , I'm impressed they put up 4 runs . I think Fouts had 3 of the RBi's -- don't know why in the world teams would pitch to her . EJ did throw the soph ace I assume ?

Scored first 2 runs on a Fouts Double , 3rd run on an IF error .

East Jess up 5-3 in the 6th . Didn't get first hit til 2 outs in the bottom of 5 , EC is still batting in the 6th , if I'm reading tweets correctly .
