Howard Feggins is a class act. What do you expect him to tell the parents, alumni, kids? Hey, we can be pretty good, but when it comes to Highlands we are going to get our Tails Kicked? The man is a great man, very humble, very nice and probably a pretty good coach. I know he was a hell of an athlete. He has coached at a pretty high level. Check your, "I am Highlands, hear me roar" attitude. It really does get old!!!!!! Especially when the majority of the people that are mouthing off, never played in the NFL, College, High School, Little League! May have been on the team, but have never really played. If you had, you would understand. If you did, shame on you for missing the boat on understanding life!

Electrical fire!

Any one have the scoop on this. All i know is the locker room caught fire and all equipment, including players equipment is destroyed.

Haven't seen the video, so I am not sure, but I was sitting right in line with the punt and it looked like the punt crossed the line of scrimmage by 5 yards and then took a backwards bounce towards HC. The tape doesn't lie, but I would be surprised if it didn't go beyond the line of scrimmage.

Snakesnot_2000 is to Beechwood as UK #1 Fan is to Highlands. Ill informed, stir the pot, my team is the best, push your buttons, until they lay an egg and then you don't hear from them for a while. Oh well, that is why we live in the great country we do! No Class A school should go into a game against a Class AAAA school thinking they are going to "go in, reek havoc and walk out with a victory". That motivation comes in the 3rd/4th qtr. when they are up and the coach pushes/motivates them to finish the job! Your motivation should be to use this game to get better for the playoff run. Telling your team that this game will get them better to win in November. This way, if you do get down early you can motivate your team for the future. If you happen to be up going into the second half or late in the game, you can help build their confidence by making a statement against a bigger opponent. BTW snakesnot_2000. Look up Mt. Healthy, OH. Where did they finish in 2013? Where are they in 2014? 5-0! Where was BW going into the game?

Congrats to Brandon. I did notice on NKYsports that they included 6 years of varsity basketball for Brandon. I remember when Scott Draud played at Highlands there was a "big to do" about adding in Doug Schloemer's 6 years of varsity basketball. BTW, Draud broke Schloemer's 9th region record. The consensus was to only include the 4 years of high school for Doug. Interesting that they now allow 6 years. What changed?

Highlands is not big enough to have talented athletes choose one sport. Really concerned with all the parental/AAU coach/HS Coach hype that "you should choose on sport and stick to it". Unless you child is 6' 8", 6' 9"/ 6' 10" or bigger and can ball it up, or 6' 3" and can knock your block off in football or 5' 10" and can field like B Phillips. Until there is mutual understanding amongst coaches, parents and administration that all "KIDS" (because that is what they are) should be encouraged to play multiple sports, this BS is going to continue. Witnessing it already in the lower ranks with my own little guy. Bottom line, IMO, let our kids experience as many "extra-curricular activities" as they want. Too many stories that I have personally witnessed to dictate what a kid can and can't do at the age of 10-14 yrs. old. Doug Pelfrey was probably a better Baseball/Basketball Player in HS. Yet, he wound up one of the most "prolific field goal kickers in the history of the NFL". He lived his dream, but probably learned a lot about his profession by experiencing differnet aspects from all of the sports in which he participated. I am sure we have all witnessed these types of experiences. Sorry to vent, just tired of the AAU Basketball/Knothole/Southwest Ohio League/Soccer Coach/High School Coach/Name It, telling really young kids that they should make a decision about what they are going to do, so they can hang plagues on their wall or put "hardware" on their shelves to say, "What a great coach I was!" Unfortunately, that has what it has come to, in many of the cases, not all.

Trickey/Wright QB Camp is "outstanding". Jeff Trickey is a coach from the Wisconsin area. Teaches fundamentals, technique, footwork, etc.. More importantly he teaches, "leadership and accepting the challenge of being a leader". He doesn't believe in "showcase" camps. Really wants the kids to develop. Recently (last year) combined his National Camp to include a pretty good QB out of the University of Wisconsin, Randy Wright. Randy QB'd the Green Bay Packers for several years before giving up his job to a guy named Bret Favre. Randy brings a "Big Time" NFL perspective to help solidify the principals of what coach Trickey is teaching in his camps. My Son has attended for the past 4 yrs. Only a Soph, but plan on him attending then next 2 years and possibly joining the local staff if coach Trickey/Wright will have him. Coach Trickey/Wright preach more than Football. Literally have goosebumps each year when they tell life changing stories and drive home the impact a young person can have by "accepting the role of being a leader". Not too expensive. Usually host at Anderson High School in Cincy. Early May if my memory serves me correct. Implemented WR's for the first time last year. Watched the "live" training and was impressed with the teaching and staff. Several NFL/Big Time college veterans as instructors. Google Trickey/Wright Camp for dates. No . Love the principals/fundamentals taught. Only wish is that it wasn't a weekend only camp. Usually, Sat 8-12 and Sun 9-1. Believer and will continue to send my sons. Oldest attended twice. Middle has attended 3 years. Youngest in his third year and only in 5th grade. Repetition sticks. Worth every nickle.

Most "clueless" comment I have ever heard! If you knew anything about football and coaching, I would be surprised. Absolutely, unbelievable that I am even responding to clueless people as yourself! Guru, please step in and stop the insanitity!

You have to have the talent to develop it!

Beechwood High School has the most talented coaching staff in No. Ky. PERIOD! They are simply a year away from getting back to dominating Class A football. Loaded with Sophmores, who will grow into being great players, it is difficult to beat teams that are loaded with upperclassmen. Once they get the talent level back up by winning State Championships, they will once again reign as a Class A powerhouse. You can be the worst coach in the world and win with talent, yet you can also be the greatest coach in the world and not beat anyone with a lack of talent. This is not to take away from the upperclassmen Beechwood had this year. I believe they lost a few solid seniors early in the year due to injury. This really hurts a smaller school where 1-2 players can make all the difference in the world. The bottom line is, I would take Beechwood's coaching staff over any staff in No. Ky. without question! Take it from someone who knows what they are talking about. You can complain, blame it on the coaches, do all the things that frustrated fans do, but in the end you have to look beyond that and ask yourself if you really have the horses to get it done? If Beechwood had the upperclassmen horses and failed to advance, I would understand what you are saying. I think you will be singing a different tune next year and the years following!

Your reply, obviously shows how much Kool-Aid you have ingested over the years and you have completely missed the point of the statement. Re-read, put the glass down and think. Hanging with the best in the GCL? Beating St. X 3+ years ago at Highlands, (great win BTW) beating Elders JV team last year (half the team suspended on a less than par team) are two entirely different things. Fair share of wins would be a little better than 500. I will give you 6 of 10 or 6 of 11 depending on the number of teams scheduled, but to compete week in and week out? Listen to the GURU! Quit drinking the Blue Kool Aid and realize these GCL schools should beat Highlands. The fact that you actually gave them a game is Awesome. No one expected it to be this close. To believe that you are something you are not, and can compete on a regular basis with GCL schools is absurd. The pure number of boys enrolled in school is enough to dictate who should win on a regular basis. The other fact is Elder plays Moeller, St. X, etc.....on a weekly basis. Highlands plays Pendleton, Harrison, Mason, no fault of their own, on a weekly basis. One/two big games a year, Cov. Cath, and I will throw in Boyle/Elder/or whatever Cincy team is scheduled. I am sure Highlands was stoked to play Elder, where Elder, although fully prepared, was not as stoked to play Highlands. This was Highlands mini-state championship! To Elder it was just another tough game! I'm sure they did not take Highlands lightly, but I promise you they were not as fired up to play Highlands as they were to play Moeller/St. X/St. I's/Indy Cathedral/Indy Ben Davis/Trinity/etc........... Just be proud of your team and realize Ohio football overall is a few steps ahead of Kentucky football. Whether it is pure numbers, which I believe it is, or talent, which comes with greater numbers! Highlands would be a 500 team if they played the schedule Elder played. Sorry about the reality check.
