We all want to win every game, we all approach every game blah blah blah...

How should Beechwood be approaching this game? From a mental aspect I think it could have a significant impact on their title hopes. Let me explain, if Beechwood goes into this game with both guns a blazin', win at all costs, beat CCH, prove to everyone the Dixie game was a fluke, neighborhood rivalry, etc. and the Tigers end up losing (or worse losing big) where will the players/team be left mentally? Would a loss here or worse a big loss here have a lasting effect on the Tigers? I am sure Beechwood went into both the Mt. Healthy (OH) game and the Dixie game thinking they were going to win. Now if Beechwood takes this approach and wins bring on Mayfield today...

However, if Beechwood approaches the game quietly, hoping to compete, and comparing scores in their mind with the understanding they are a huge underdog, would that make a loss (or worse, a blow out) less of an impact on the players/team? And if Beechwood wins taking this approach, hey awesome.

Should Coach Rash be playing the Underdog card with his players or should he be playing the Beast Mode card?

.....

Stay healthy.

Given.

I think Beechwood should play to win because this and the NCC game are usually the only way for them to improve until deeper in the playoffs. They will throttle the district opponents and the first part of the playoffs. Better to find your strengths and weaknesses now than to find out with a playoff loss.

If I was a Mayfield Fan that certainly would be my wish.

Sure they should play to win, but how should they approach the game?

I would do what CovCath appears to have done last week after a no win situation exposed itself midway through the 2nd qtr....Live to play another day and get out healthy...:thumb:

Go in expecting to win and do everything they can to find out if they are going to contend for a state championship. If they lose by 35 with that approach so what because they won't meet CovCath in the 1A playoffs.

Everybody has to turn their play up a notch. Find out who's got the coconuts.

I would not expect this game to be even close imo, nor should it be close...shear numbers in this one

So Underdog Card?

To me, Beechwood hasn't beaten or played with a team that they were underdogs for many years as I recall. This game could say something... one way or another.

Absolutely they should play the underdog card and they should.

The Beechies are a tough bunch, always has been and expect nothing less in this one. They know how to win, they have proven it with their success in winning both State Championships and Dixie Hwy Championships.

From an outsider looking in, I just don't see BW winning this one...I have been wrong before and Pete struck out once so anything is possible.
