So Beast Mode!

Yes. Full throttle. If they think CovCath has a great secondary throw the ball and see how good they are. If they think CovCath will try and run it down their throat put 8 in the box and shut them down and make them throw it.

There is nothing to lose. You never want to do anything to get kids hurt but they don't need to be healthy until deeper in the playoffs. They can be at less than 100% and roll thru the District. Use this game and the NCC game to see what works and what does not work.

We will show you:)

To me, Beechwood hasn't beaten or played with a team that they were underdogs for many years as I recall. This game could say something... one way or another.

I would say Sept 19 was not all that long ago.

HAHA....Franklin County? All that game did was expose Franklin County. I was not totally surprised. Not a good example to me.

Maybe but one team was coming off a 22-13 win over a Frankfort team that knocked Beechwood out of the playoffs the year before and one team was two weeks removed from a beatdown from a team 1 mile up the road.

So most would agree that Beechwood was not expected to win (remember the natives were restless) and certainly not win by 42-13

Maybe both teams aren't that good.

Actually a better question should be how should CovCath approach this game? It is kind of a no-win for them.

Full out show who owns the neighborhood or quietly, methodically go about being a good 4A team that should dominate good 1A team?

Go full out and lose and coupled with the Highlands blowout what would be CovCath's chances next time against Highlands? Go methodical and lose and everyone thinks the season is really over.

Go full out and win and everyone says well Beechwood is a good 1A team but no 4A team. Go methodical and win and everyone thinks there is no passion and Highlands has sucked the life out of the Colonels.

Covington Cath will be in beast mode....I guarantee

One would have thought that last week also.

You go in with beast mode...doesn't mean it will stay there:no:

I disagree with the "no win" thinking especially after getting your hat handed to you the week before. CCH will be looking to get that feeling back and will score as often as they can to get it back. While part of the NKY fan brain may say "well BW is not the BW of the Yeagle years" they main part still knows how strong the program is. A big win will be impressive to most.

Snakesnot_2000 is to Beechwood as UK #1 Fan is to Highlands.

Ill informed, stir the pot, my team is the best, push your buttons, until they lay an egg and then you don't hear from them for a while.

Oh well, that is why we live in the great country we do!

No Class A school should go into a game against a Class AAAA school thinking they are going to "go in, reek havoc and walk out with a victory". That motivation comes in the 3rd/4th qtr. when they are up and the coach pushes/motivates them to finish the job!

Your motivation should be to use this game to get better for the playoff run. Telling your team that this game will get them better to win in November. This way, if you do get down early you can motivate your team for the future. If you happen to be up going into the second half or late in the game, you can help build their confidence by making a statement against a bigger opponent.

BTW snakesnot_2000. Look up Mt. Healthy, OH. Where did they finish in 2013? Where are they in 2014? 5-0! Where was BW going into the game?

Does Covington Catholic now believe they have no chance in the playoffs? Do they feel it is hopeless if they face Highlands again?

I don't see what makes this game any different than any of the other games against big schools this year. Just go out and play hard.

I don't buy into the theory that no 1a team should expect to win against a 4a school simply because of numbers. I guarantee Beechwood fully expected to beat Holmes, who's also a 4a school. This may be the case with a 1a team that dresses 25-30 kids and has the majority of there players going both ways plus playing on every special team but Beechwood isn't one of those. Depth isn't near the factor when a team dresses 50 or more players.
